What ever happened to the old road map

I agree with @HOST

But if we are talking about awful things for noobs, the initial movement/action speed sucks and could be improved a bit and I’m sure that would change how people feel about the grind a lot.

I think it would change much if players would start with something like additional 15 skill points set to luck power and speed skills. Those points could be taken off from first 50+ extra levels giving 3 points instead of 4.

This comment is “cute/funny” but I don’t think we should go there man.

“Everyone who disagrees with me is wrong” is not a positive attitude to bring into a discussion.

That’s what I’m seeing a lot of in this thread, and in others. “We can’t even debate this you’re just wrong”

We can be better than this, guys!

What ever happened to the old road map?

I swear, the dog ate it!

Seriously, this can only be answered by developers …

This is The Boundless Dilemma, in a nutshell.

Some people would rather do other things besides mining all day… Like, build, maybe? But these things require constant mining in order to participate fully, and thus some folks complain about “the grind”. Pro-grinders have to understand… It’s not simply the volume of effort being put in by the player - it’s the volume of effort in doing things they don’t want to do, in order to get to the things they do want to do. If you feel like it’s not bothering you, that doesn’t make you a better person - it just means you enjoy mining more than the next person.

Reducing the grind would NOT hurt any of you who enjoy it so much! Nobody’s stopping you from digging a hole to the planet’s core and back again! But what DOES hurt you is this constant revolving door of players who are “lazy”. Do you seriously want to be all alone in your MMO with the 5 other people in the world who share your amazing work ethic? Because that seems like the only outcome when you carry this line of thinking to its logical extreme.

I called for this a long time ago, and I still think it would be a great solution and easy to implement. And I’ve mentioned it before in threads where the devs were active and tried tagging people in the hope of at least getting a public response, and… nothing.

And before all of the old-time hoarders use their classic argument that this would devalue all of their accumulated stock of materials… No. Absolutely not. Your 15,000-plot warehouse has no value when there’s no one to buy it, and that’s the situation you’re in right now. If the player count finally stayed high enough to have any serious impact on consumption, you might FINALLY be able to sell that entire planet’s worth of blocks in your basement.
