i took a break… i was away only 3 month…
yesterday i wanted to buy few items, i rasn to my fav shop only to found that Trior Temple served as hub dissapeared… also Byregots shop… what happened?
noone noticed? noone tried to preserved temple? even ashed… …
I’ve done a lot of preserving in the past of some builds, one being DK Mall and several others. I used to want to preserve things, but I’ve pretty much changed my mind on all of that.
I’ve come to realize that it’s best to just let things go. As beautiful and as sentimental some builds are at a game and personal level it stings a little to see a build ashed that I frequented, but at the same time I hope that person will come back one day and rebuild.
The most painful thing I did was reclaim my build, but you know after I came back after three months I started rebuilding and it more fun that the first time, because I had a better knowledge of how I wanted to build, more coin to support it and more materials.
Starting over as scary as it sounds, was probably the best thing I’ve done.
I came to this realization a while back. I used to go to beautiful builds and frequently return to take it in again. But when I started using ShareX to take screenshots, I started taking screenshots of the beautiful builds so that I’d have that to look back on for when they do eventually disappear.
People got upset the last time I did that. Evidently, they wanted to take pics of the ashed build before it disappeared.
One of the times I came across a build I liked, that the owner was about to ash. @Ratchel let me to take some pics first.
Honestly, I had a hard time pressing the reclaim button on that one. It came down to a couple of things that really made me want to quit the game, and for all intents and purposes that was what I did. I never planned on coming back.
I reclaimed because the planet I was on was on a sovereign that I didn’t own and the owner who is a good friend of mine wasn’t playing anymore so combining the unknown if the planet would be renewed or not and not wanting him to feel he had to renew it for me, along with the multitude of other unknowns from Monumental I just felt I needed to quit.
It’s mostly the fact that if someone wanted it saved, I think they’d mention it and ask someone the trust to handle it.
I also think some players are just greedy and want to horde as much as they can and if they see someone get banned and/or a time limited beacon, they wait so they can take as much of it as they can.
I know I’ve inherited so much from people that have left the game and all it does is sit in chests, thus why when I started playing again, I wanted to just build a color storage/shop all in one. I won’t use 5million gleam, 3.5mil stone, or the other crazy amounts of stuff I have, nor will I use all the colors of it.
So yea, preserving the past is kind of cool, its also kind of sad, but in the end it will all go away, so take some screenshots and remember them, but just let go, it will be ok.
now even more than before i want to continue work at my Explorer’s Diary to journey acrioss Boundlessverse to catch pictures of builds i want to memorize in my Diary
i must admit, coming back another time and start to build again is more than fun
maybe this time ill build my full color group display storage
honestly, today i panickly run to few places to make sure they still there - School Farm, Gleam Universe and Bastion
Blitz deleted those Beacons at Brygenwerth but they are replotted by others so they still exist. You can go to Maryx hub and go to Trior door there it will take you there. There are a couple other doors that will get you there but off the top of my head i cannot remeber them at the moment.
Yeah. If I was on when bergenswerths beacon was deleted I 100% would have regenned it. Sure it’s an amazing build. But there’s plenty of videos and images to remember it by. And you’re right about greedy people want the stuff. Just to have stuff. I’ve received one person stuff when they quit and pretty much gave a large amount away to people in Reapers. And buried the rest for the prestige.
Side note it’s fun to see things revert back to the natural landscape.
When my first guildmaster left the game, he left control of his beacon to me. Told me that if he didn’t come back in 3 months, to take everything I wanted. I waited the 3 months and then started clearing out the build. I gave most of the stuff away to fellow guild members.
It was a hard decision to let it all go, again. There were multiple reasons but mainly the amount of half built projects from different points from my time in boundless became overwhelming trying to piece it together. Also my guild and partner became busy irl and it was mostly myself and pretty blitzy left and she was rarely around she was busy irl.
@BoundlessBlitz stuck around for me I think. Once she logged in and seen I had ashed she deleted her beacons. We had a blast my best days in boundless for sure. Will miss it. Who knows maybe we will come back someday
Thanks Red I’m going to go clean up what’s left in the next week or 2 and pass my reclaims to my PC account. If I come back I’ll search for a new home and start small. Hope you are still here then
After David Bowie’s passing a friend said “I want to re-record Major Tom in quadraphonics and then play it through a single channel radio - why? So when you hear it you know something brilliant is missing.”
That’s how I felt the other day when I went back out to your old build and saw this:
