They do have a kind of artificial ideal around them. Perhaps the oortians created the titans to protect there cities. Whatever it was that destroyed the oortians got past them however…

The portals can expand on the Titans.
But editing your mistakes would help you, preventing you hopefully from making them in the future…
Well we don’t know how the portals will work but if they need a portal frame, I think it’s safe to assume the can only let things through that are smaller that that frame.
