Was on Raxxa and checking out some items for sale in the settlement. A player came up and said hi. Asked me if I was looking for a place to settle. Told her I had a outpost and she wanted to show me around. Nice looking place, not sure about what is involved in joining a settlement.
My son and I have been playing together but he is right now playing Fallout 76, so it could be a bit, week, two week, three or even more before he will be ready to return to Boundless.
So, it has me wondering, what is required, what do those of you who belong to settlements expect from members? How much is a player supposed to get involved, required to do? In selling items in a shop/store how is that worked out? Someone had some food in a room for sale, if I make food and brews to sell how does it work out on setting prices if I think they are asking too much or too small of a price?
Hi Janna,
I am a member of a community of about 12 and growing. We expect nothing. Except for you to live within the plot limits of the settlement. Members of our community have the advantages of every other player out there…So no REAL advantage over anyone else however as a group we often go meteor hunting together, we discuss different projects and ideas we have and provide our opinion without discouragement. No real limitation on where to build, just common respect for your neighbors if they have been talking about a plan for a plot. We expect you to do your thing. Want to build together cool, want to build a dirt house and log on once a week, we accept that too. We HOPE you’re an active player joining us but we are not picky. Our only community goal is to become the largest prestige settlement on the planet, and were playing the long term game.
We have a central market that is owned by several players that we sell different types of items. We all have our specialty with a little overlap in what we sell. Sometime we give each other free stuff. We try to respect the other persons goals in purchasing and selling prices but sometimes we are willing to pay more for inky leaves than the other guy… You may sell whatever you like at whatever prices you like. And we could easily help you set a portal to your own private shop.
In short the only requirement to join a settlement is to build with 4 plots touching the settlements plots (or somebody connected to it. (Also causes grief for those that don’t want to join)
The benefit is collaboration and the use of another persons portals. Such as we have a connection to 3 HUBS that you don’t have to worry about the upkeep costs (couple thousand oort shards a week for ours) and traveling the Boundless universe is easier.
Should you be interested in looking for a casual community to join LACUNA is a great little city to be apart of. We have a portal to Gravidias PS-HUB “Lacuna”
Aqua HUB on Finata (Big, downstairs portal) “Emporium Nocturn”
and Angel I ,I totally forget the name of the big shopping hub there (Sorry guys!)
Fun Fact: We have built a wall to the WEST, not to keep people out, but to tell the community the city will not expand in that direction and respect those that want to retain their own Sovereignty.
Probably not seeing it, but what planet are you on? I don’t know yet what I am going to do. looking at various options right now.
Lacuna is on Storis II (US West). I just joined the settlement a couple of weeks ago and I’m loving it. Small enough to be relaxed and casual but with enough people, shops, and portals to give you access to everything you need. Definitely come check us out if you are looking for a place to settle down.
I have a outpost on Storis II. Will hunt it up sometime today, if I can.
I’ve been building an aztec city on Delta (the capital in between ultima and PS) we do happen to have some huse sculptures as the main attraction eg dino and a dragon. We’ve got a bunch of different people with builds and all we ask is that you tell us what you want to build and we’ll find a space for you.
On a side note we’ve decided to make a spaceport and a spaceship you can walk around in east of the city and will one day build the city from stargate Atlantis if anyone wants to join.
If you’re not active that’s fine just keep your beacon fuelled or give me permission and fuel to keep it going for you when you’re not around
my somewhat ziggurat would fit in there I bet.
What is supposed to be the first level is really a basement that has my workshop and storage area. First level is to be a display and shop area, will have some items for sale. Second level is setting up to be a small dinning area, with tables and chairs, some stands and going to try to make a “grilling” area to mimic cooking food. Will have food for sale there. Third floor is observation. Fourth is more just a section that has some gleam on top, 3x3 stacked 3 high. The are lots of windows as it is meant to look open, and visitors can look out over the lake, see the hills around, the ugly white gleam tower in the background and my son’s tower in the lake.
The stones I used are from Delta C along with the sand and gravel. Some black gravel from Angel 1 to help in a design in the sand and soil. Some gleam to add light, most is inside, but can be seen at night with all the glass windows, so may cut it back, I think it is a bit much. I’ve used the white gleam as it goes with anything, but am trying to not have too much.
The nice lady has her base which is very nice. Small on the outside but a huge basement work area, and two of her friends have build very nice looking buildings and they can be seen from the different levels.
I want to try something different in style this time, not sure what I want to make. Or on what planet.
That sounds really nice and probably has some really nice views through all the windows. One of my side projects is building El Dorado which is a really interesting build because I’m creating it in a cavern so will be attaching houses to the rockface and building winding stairs. Although I have a feeling it’s too big to be classed as a basement.
I want to put up some type of decorative fencing. It won’t keep the spitters out, more for a boundary line and looks. Thinking of the green thorns five long, break for a fancy half gate with gleam for poles and use the chisel to make them look smaller. Then five more thorns, repeating around my “property” line.
I took out a section of the wall to extend my basement so I can have a kitchen area to make the food.
Down with a bug it seems, great for the holiday LOL. Won’t have to worry about overeating the turkey, or the pie for desert.
If I can get the computer to take photos I will post them. Microsoft seems to be a jerk about taking photos.

Well, I’m not a *******, very considerate of others. Been ******* on enough growing up to not want to treat others the way I was. ■■■for tat is only for the total ********, and I prefer to just avoid them if possible.

than you’d be welcome in any and all settlements!
check out Blacklight, Pheminorum we have plots available with roads infrastructure or some districts that are free-for-all.
Ultima HUB -> clock tower -> giant Blacklight portal
we also have a discord for chit-chats and planning to take over the world! mwhahahahaa
I’ve had to edit a couple of posts due to some words not being filtered by the system.
Please remember that Boundless is targeted at ages 7 and up, and some of the words used are not appropriate for all ages. Thanks
Sorry about that, not used to that young of a age on a community forum. One’s I am are adults and they use a lot of words I won’t use. Well, rarely use. Will do my best to remember to clean it up better.
