What is power?

I have not seen power as a ingredient before, is it in game?
If so, how to get it.

Or am i to tired…

That’s weird man, i’m sure i’ve seen people with these blocks but i’ve never seen any mention of power either…

I’m guessing it’s something needed for higher up the crafting progression chain… it’s been within the game files for quite a while though (earliest files I have saved, go back to July 2016 and it’s mentioned in there).

Hmm you’re right, it’s required for all these:

GEM_AMETHYST_DECORATIVE
GEM_DIAMOND_DECORATIVE
GEM_EMERALD_DECORATIVE
GEM_TOPAZ_DECORATIVE
GEM_RUBY_DECORATIVE
GEM_SAPPHIRE_DECORATIVE
SPECIAL_RIFT_COMPACT
SPECIAL_RIFT_COMPACT_SLAB
SPECIAL_RIFT_COMPACT_STEP
SPECIAL_RIFT_COMPACT_WALL
SPECIAL_DARKMATTER_COMPACT
SPECIAL_DARKMATTER_COMPACT_SLAB
SPECIAL_DARKMATTER_COMPACT_STEP
SPECIAL_DARKMATTER_COMPACT_WALL
SPECIAL_BLINK_COMPACT
SPECIAL_BLINK_COMPACT_SLAB
SPECIAL_BLINK_COMPACT_STEP
SPECIAL_BLINK_COMPACT_WALL
SPECIAL_OORTSTONE_COMPACT
SPECIAL_OORTSTONE_COMPACT_SLAB
SPECIAL_OORTSTONE_COMPACT_STEP
SPECIAL_OORTSTONE_COMPACT_WALL
ITEM_REFINED_RIFT
ITEM_REFINED_DARKMATTER
ITEM_REFINED_BLINK
ITEM_REFINED_OORTSTONE
SPECIAL_RIFT_DECORATIVE
SPECIAL_DARKMATTER_DECORATIVE
SPECIAL_BLINK_DECORATIVE
SPECIAL_OORTSTONE_DECORATIVE

But can’t see any other mention of crafting it.

I was wondering the same thing, I dont think its implemented yet

What is power? It is the way, brothers!

Bumping an old topic, perhaps someone knows what power is yet and how one may get it?

maybe its spark from when the game was Oorts online

As far as I know, power is still not available in game yet

As you’ve rightly worked out, power is a mechanic that isn’t yet in the game. I’m surprised that there are recipes in the game that demand it, they shouldn’t really be there yet as you won’t be able to build them.

To increase the power of your machines you will place engines around the machine which automatically connect to it. The more engines you add, and the better the engines are, the higher the power is.

Power does two things - it gates some recipes (as you’ve seen) and it also makes crafting quicker and therefore use less fuel. This is so that whilst crafting is readily accessible to all players, those with massively powered up machines will produce high end things quicker and cheaper. This allows a specialist crafters to craft in bulk, and make a profit as some players choose to buy rather than take the time and resources to craft something themselves.

this makes me happy. nothing wrong with finding some easter eggs, one of the high points of having hard working devs that are always doing stuff!

this makes me happy because i just found out that if you place them right, you can stack more than just three power cores… right now i think i have five linked up!

ALL THE SPARK

:sparkles:

not to be confused with the all-spark…

How are you doing that man? I’ve tried before, couldn’t get it happening

try placing them a few blocks away from your machines, place them side by side in a line, and then connect with pipes

This will totaly make me some problems to maintain my currently very compact working room, the room inside is 6x7 with two double doors leading inside, there is technically a lot of space above it but i dont use it for reasons, my shelfs are directly above my machines, i hope i can fit these gears in the ground xD, plz make them look somewhat like a full block or the floor underneath my machines will have a lot of holes

please… what is power. the centraforge and compactor require it but I cannot find anywhere where this is explained. I know I’m responding to a dev comment from a year ago so I’m dismayed that it’s so difficult to discover any information about this critical/necessary game mechanic. :frowning: It’s not explained, in-game and I can’t find anything new about it. Any vids I find are a year old and don’t even look like the same in-game gui and content creators don’t mention power in them. It’s a secret? I can’t progress without it. Seems really problematic to be able to create a machine but not be able to power it because you don’t know from what source or machine power is created in the first place.
