I wanted to start such a thread too^^ So what is you favourite anime? Old one (like first digimon season), new one (like one or two years ago) and from the last season?^^
For me it would be
old: Digimon the first two seasons, just because nostalgia^^
new: Log Horizon, even better than SAO^^
last season: Shokugeki no Souma.

Iāve actually never gotten into anime, but Iāve still watched a few good ones, namely Sword Art Online, High School of the Dead, Death Parade, and Assassination Classroom.

) ā¦ (Kodomo no Omocha was also great)ā¦ For defining āOldā and āNewā: For me the old ones were of the first gernerations of anime while the new ones are those of the time when anime became a wave rolling over europe (where the style was also getting more modern) ā¦ I have not seen a single good anime since the first years of this millennium ^^
OH! and how could i forget Avatar?? Awesome show too. I havenāt watched Korra yetā¦has anyone else? Is it any good?

Iāve seen the start of Korra and it is really good^^ They made a good transition from Aang to Korra and all the new things the world developed are really interesting.

I have seen like half of the first season of NGE but it just didnāt get to me. It didnāt have the special something to keep my attention. For me there are better Mecha animes out there^^
But you donāt like a single anime that came out the last 10 years? 0.o

Iāve heard of Macross but never seen it.
I only watch old animes if the storie is really really good^^ The style is not so my thing^^ So Iād say Iām the complete opposite of you xD

My favorite anime of all time is prob Sword Art Online
I know alot of people thought it was going to be action packed only so when it turned into romance they got annoyed, i on the other hand loved that part of it, but it all depends on who you are
as other people also mentioned, Log Horizon
is also a really good anime, especially for gamers.
For more serious an anime i have come to love and i think is utterly amazing, is Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso/Your lie in april

it is a very heart breaking anime with an amazing yet deeply dramatic story.
For love stories i really like Kaicho wa Maid-Sama and Special A
Then 2 animes that have a very well put together story but are relatively unknown is Death parade and Kamisama no memo-chou
Then there are a ton of amazing animes that i cant even begin to mention them all: No game no life, Fairy Tail, Parasyte, Tonari no kaibutsu-kun, and so many many more.
Also i would love sugggestions for good animes directly if anybody have some, im always looking for more animes to use in AMVās

i have seen the familliar of zero, the shokugeki i have bookmarked and is definitely going to watch it, i just dont like watching ongoing animes. the monogatari series are so messed up, i tried watching them but i just couldnt. Grisaia i am currently playing the visual novel it was build on so i dont want to watch it to spoil it, Akame ga kill was decent but it felt lacking in some way, but i will take a look at the rest.

this is like 5% - 10% i have watchedā¦ they are the ones i could remember by heart there are many many more, which is why i am always looking for new things to watch.
Have you seen the anime called āāPlastic Memoriesāā? it is a really interesting plot setting, i am almost finished with it and i dont regret it, although i have a friend who thinks its bad because there are actual dillemas and feelings involved.
