Working on my castle. What rooms should be in a good castle? You can see the layout in game if you like, take the 1x2 portal “DK” from Ultima Mall first floor. My current layout (it’s quite big, inner keep is 6x8 plots, outer keep is 12x18 plots, floating in the sky):
Outer keep: gardens, guard house, stables, huntsman/doghouse, 1 vacant large building to fill, future moat around inner keep
Outer keep towers unused, could be for the royal army?
Inner keep:
Basement: dungeon with sky cells, prison guard main room, execution chamber with future lava
Ground: palace kitchens, palace laundry, servants quarters, castle workshops, vacant rooms to fill
Main floor (above ground): great hall (dining room)
2nd floor: throne room, offices for various functionaries like keeper of the coin, head of the guard, head of the hunt, head of the stables, fleet admiral, army chief, police chief, jester, food taster, head blacksmith, head carpenter, head spy, chief diplomat, head of agriculture
3rd floor: king’s workshop and king’s storage
4th floor: rooftop farms (future)
Inner keep towers: king’s quarters tower, guest quarters tower, magician’s tower, astronomer’s tower, possibly a fifth tower to fill
What are more “roles” and rooms that should go in a castle?
