Does anyone have a list of the factors or triggers for the various in-game music songs? I rarely get music playing in game, and when I do it’s usually the same song, and I know this has to do with how I play, like it depends on how many people are nearby, the weather, maybe whether you’re fighting enemies?
I’m just curious if anyone has ever created or seen a definitive list of the triggers so I could purposefully try to set off music more.
I just end up listening to something else on my headphones while I play but I would rather hear both the soundtrack and my gameplay.
generally clue is in titles, like discovery or fighting or night travel although there are tracks with titles that wouldn’t give you a clear idea to what might trigger them;
on top of that tracks have versions called ambient and drone - there was a post about it long ago somewhere; not sure but possibly maybe these were connected to what part of day it is… maybe someone remembers better than me
Ya same, but sometimes I want to hear my in-game activities plus the music, all through my one headset and not have to plug my headset into my phone to play the Boundless soundtrack, detached from my gameplay.
Just thought if there were predictable triggers I might be able to manipulate that somehow to set off the music and go back to regular playing. Like if there was a song triggered by grappling a certain distance lol…obviously not a great example
The track is determined by the activities you are doing such as hunting, crafting, building, mining etc. There are several versions each track ranging from ambient to more dynamic / exciting. if you are playing solo / no one is around you will get a more mellow version of the song. If there are lots of players around you’ll get a more dynamic / exciting version. The same is true for weather… so crafting in a crowded city during a storm will have more dynamic / exciting music than crafting on a calm day with no one around.
Edit: as far as music actually playing, it seems to come in regular intervals, so it may be on a simple timer with some variability.
It also depends on what tier planet your on as in Tier 7 Hunting has the Best Song I think you can’t find that song on no other planet than T7 hunting Boop
Interesting, I wonder if using a crafted item that causes rainy weather would make that kind of music kick in, and then I could set up a house on a higher tier planet and maybe between the two get more and better music haha
