This IS a rant, do i expect anything constructive, nope. Will I just leave it and move on, sadly no because its so frustrating.
Around 4 weeks ago i made a deal with someone, i supplied marble (block changed at that ) at a 2:1 ratio for rough oort. Total deal ended up 1000 oort for 2k marble. I asked around and was assured they were “good” for me a marble first deal with payment asap. Marble was handed, over Normally i wouldnt even entertain the idea, but hell they had needed to build a new shop in eresho and they are a very well known player who i hunted with loads & a senior member of a very big guild (afaik).
Big big mistake. The shop got built, some oort (250) changed hands and all was good. Then they vanished for two weeks until coming back online. now for a week they run in opposite directions (witnessed) warp home, through portals and make empty promises on discord.
Life happens, problems happen and honestly the money wont break my bank. But what if im not alone, what if poorer players have or maybe will be exploited by a player you assume would be trustable due to time in game etc etc. If they has communicated or said im taking a break, fair enough. Honestly though, i dont see this. Running away and logging off isnt a sign of someone has any intention of making good on promises.
So, firstly. Dont make my mistake, it can really cotlst you.
I doubt speaking to a dev will help, as it appears the player has quit or plays very little. I gave em the oort and didnt say it must be repaid by xxxx. Although i did say asap, set up a basket if im not on and even updated a sign with the deal, oort paid etc. Ultimately though i guess its on me. I trusted someone. I shouldnt have, i paid the price.
Wall of text at an end. Rant over. But learn a lesson from my loss!!
Had quite a few msgs just to add, that half of the oort was destined to keep NG portals open. So, if you want to help out please donate oort to the baskets on trung or to aenea.
I have accepted my loss & any sympathy oort would be more useful there
im really sorry this happened to you and yeah it really sucks (also pretty sure i know who you are refering to) i have oort to spare and will be on in like 20 min i can bring you some i hunt a LOT for the animal parts as i am mainly a builder and my favorite building mat is marble lol
i always try to donate half the oort i get on hunts to the hunt leader but they dont always take it i have more than what i need so id love to donate some to you just let me know when and where
If there is any spares Nova Golda on trung is the place to drop it off. (Deleted by request hehe) multiple portals on eresho and one on lamblis, tnt hub etc
I feel the pain of the marble resource eater too…made 4k black marble and it sold in about a hour. Empty stands are harder to fill when its marble rather than bricks!!
Only donate whatever you have spare though. This was a learn from my mistake post, rather than plea for oort
If someone makes a deal…breaking it like that costs them their honor in my opinion… YOUR WORD OF HONOR IS ALL YOURS… do not SQUANDER it over a video game.
