I’ve checked natural caves, cliffs, and done some open pit mining with no luck at all. I’m finding plenty of copper and coal, but no iron yet. Do I need to look in specific biomes, higher tier worlds, or what?
On lower tier worlds iron is quite rare, on rugged and higher worlds is way less rare then on the starter worlds.
If you’re on one of the starter world’s there’s not a lot of it but generally I’ve been finding it pretty low down usually roughly around level 25-30

tbh i am on EU 1 (sochaltin I) and i am finding a fair bit on iron in caves 
just keep on digging
