Seriously. I don’t get it. Why are there even threads about nerfing XP? Do you actually want this game to be an extremely long grind on levels? Why do people care that you can craft stones for decent XP? If anything, should we boost other forms of XP to be on par?
Help me out here. I simply don’t get it.
EDIT: I re-read the upcoming patch notes and see the XP nerf now. I’m not sure I understand the nerf, personally. I think it’s perfectly fine to have avenues to fast XP like this but I get that maybe the idea is it’s cutting into potential purchases of plots from the Exchange for $. (For the record, I don’t mean that to be snarky. I get it and it makes sense but I’m sad about the XP nerf).
I was a little concerned regarding the removal of stone xp but I’m getting more concerned of how the subject has ballooned into different areas (eg xp pies).
A lot of theorycrafting, exchanging of ideas on ways forward, backwards and sideways but little concrete indication from the devs on future intentions.
Early days (!?) I guess but it is making me slightly nervous of the direction some of these numerous discussions are heading.
That’s why I said the stone fix is just lazy and thoughtless. This is just going to be a whackamole cycle. Bomb mining > stone spamming > (I could put in multiple other options here after the stone nerf happens).
It’s the symptom of a larger scale problem. Alts. Cubits. Plots. Their design is beginning to bite them.
E: guarantee you in 4-5 months we see another thing like this as secrets become mainstream as people try to find new ways to be more efficient with the way the game currently awards things.
This seems to be a big deal to people considering 4 or 5 out of the recent post invole it.
I do not find it harmful to just leave it. The amount of xp you get for your time standing there waiting is minimal. I can get the same if not more hunting for 5mins than waiting hours on rocks.
Overall I agree with your “who cares” attitude here. But if you can get 7 - 11 million XP hunting for 5 minutes I’m missing something when I go on your hunts.
I think one of the reasons why this has become such a huge thing is because they’ve told us nothing about it. Now, suddenly, without even asking what we think, they make the biggest change. I don’t think that’s the right way to go about it.
The same people that just 3-4 months ago whining about the grind to collect mats/ingredients. Are now whining because exp isnt enough of a grind…
The irony here is crazy. Leave this alone. Half my alts that are just crafters/builders/etc. Dont go out and fight/hunt, they dont farm. This is their means to level up in game the most effective way.
I mean I’m just excited about not running to 200 crafting tables for what I could be doing at 1. Since I do play all aspects of the game and other avenues of crafting xp exist, the balance change would be great for me
I didnt say the whole idea of this is beyond devs looking into. I level a lot in other aspects of the game also.
But if you look into the threads. These same arguing the grind is too easy are the ones arguing about having to take too much time to actually farm mats to craft/build in this game just a couple months ago. Its the Irony that is hilarious. They tend to jump on these trend posts.
I make a TON of bricks, So this will benefit me & hurt the leveling process I use to level up my alts before i throw them to the cuttles.
Who exactly do you see advocating for this change? By and large I haven’t seen m,any people feel/think it is a good idea at all. There’s been a few folks who have explained where the devs are coming from/etc, but I haven’t seen anyone go out of their way to say this is a good idea. I might not be in the right threads though.
