Why is that I'm in a cave on a 'rugged metal world' and find literally 0 metal and certainly no silver but do die 10 times going from cave to cave?

This is really annoying. I’ve been to Merika and now on Lamblis but going into caves there’s ZERO of anything interesting. Barely any xopper while copper is plenty as heck on a lvl1 world. wth

Are you using an atlas? I understand your frustration with metal worlds not living up to their name, but I had to use an atlas on cephonex to find where silver and gold was, then I had to dig. 10-20 altitude is usually where the gold hides, silver goes a bit higher up.

I see. Now there’s another problem. I need a metal hammer for them and barely found any on a lvl1 world. So now I need to waste these metal hammers to dig long ass tunnels in hope to find any silver? I don’t want to spil the game but this game was more enjoyable before release. Caves had enormous amounts of metal and silver and gold too. Now I can barely find metal, I need to waste the metal that I do have to dig 1x2 tunnes in hopes of finding… more metal and maybe silver and gold?
This is boring and disheartening tbh. I just want to build a nice build already jesus.

Hello!

Caves are not always the best on the earlier planets. They redid the code for future planets to keep caves as a reliable mining option.

Using an at Las is the best way to find materials…and you can use the cave to get near the hot spots then dig around.

Just my experience! Hope it helps

Nice, so now I need to waste the very few metal I have to ‘dig around’ the place only to lose them and continue with painfully slow stone hammers. Nice. I think this game than isn’t for me. This is exuberantly boring.

Copper is plentiful on T2 planets and an easy material to gather there (even in caves). You should be able to use them reliably before heading to higher teir planets to look for other materials.

Also at T3 and T4 planets you will get a lot of iron while looking for other materials (silver /gold). You can craft the iron hammers pretty easily at that point and upgrade from copper.

You sound frustrated  happens to all of us for many games. <3

You don’t really start getting good amounts of resources until you hit level 3 worlds. That’s when I noticed a good point of higher rate of progression in things. That’s just the sad truth of it. You can get by with Iron tools until you get into Titanium cause Silver and Gold are used to craft components of better tools so skipping them is still the better option than using the ore for those tools.

There’s much to be desired about the rate of progression and its curve.

Do you have a few skill points available so that you can add coal world protection? If so, come find me at the Gyosha Mall in Gyosha Ophin & I can help you out with a few items

If you are interested I have a portal into a nice cave/mine on Lamblis I would be more then willing to show you, I hate to see people get disheartened over things like this. Always willing to help!

This right here.

Echoes in the empty caves.

If you need to blast off a bit, you’ll need to drop coin on a good hammer, then mine diamonds on Malurialakrib preferably. So you’ll need to put skill points on strength and hammer epic as well as level 4 eviroment protection skills. If you come to malurialakrib, there’s a little shop that sells them hammers, and my public mine where you can portal into a great diamond hotspot, which is also right next to a massive silver hotspot. A few hours doing that and you will have enough stuff for tools and building something huge.

No, you don’t need metal to do this. You can absolutely mine t3 worlds just fine with stone hammers. Pump talent points into hammer mastery, damage epic, and power. Do this until you have enough iron to sustain a steady flow of ore. Atlas will help you maximize your efforts by targeting hot zones, and only require glass and a copper ingot to craft.

You gotta work for it. If everything was obtainable all at once there would be zero lingevity to the game. I grinded my first set of mixer coils with an iron hammer…

Best advice. Find friends to play with…join a guild… work as a team and help each other… then when you get better, pay it forward.

You’re right. You make a good point. Guess, I’ll get an atlas then. And thanks to all of those who replied and offered help, but I’d like to play the game and freebies make it boring

Start digging on T3 worlds around elevation 20 and you’ll have tons of copper and iron. You’ll never have to use stone again. Getting past iron to Silver, Gold etc, is the next jump and once your characters ready, I recommend jumping straight to T6. You gotta be careful at that point, but that’s part of the fun. It would be increasingly more boring if there was no danger.

Note that during release the first group of worlds had issues with the cave resources. I am not sure if that was every fixed… @vdragon was regen fixed for the caves on all planets or just ones created later after release? I thought there were specific problems still with the first set of worlds on release and just can’t remember what…

Try this:

Cephonix merika:
-524n -992e alt 93
-998n -1080e alt 149
-1005n -1082e alt 82

I use titanium bombs to open up sections before whacking away. Seems as if there is less copper/iron in the visible areas (areas noticeable from just running around), opposed to two blocks in from visible areas .

If you’re looking to go it solo and are having a hard time finding copper an easy way i’ve found is to swim along the rivers and look up the mountains, dive down and search below water as well (remember to watch your breath bar)

Sorissi is a good planet for this and its a T1. Once you get a decent amount of copper make yourself a copper grapple and it will help with scaling mountains to get the copper easier. 2 grapples is even better as you can dual wield them to make mountain scaling even easier.

Also just starting out I would save silver and gold for your coils instead of using them for weapons. Stick to iron hammers as they will get the job done with the right build.

Why is it black? I’m clearing walking in it?

You need to discover regions and unlock them on the atlas by finding the named region. Above the compass it says “South of ???” (or south of unknown). Head North and discover the region. Then the atlas will reveal more of the map to you.

When searching for materials look in the Knowledge GUI for guidance about altitude.
