Playing around with the world builder.
Modified one of the graveyard biomes.
I’ve just tried modifying an existing biome to get a feel for what things do. I’m sure I could do some cool things the more time I spend with it.
Though I’m not sure you can create instances without the test server. Which is where I think I’d really shine.
I really would like to make a decimated cityscape. Imagine hunting in a post apocalyptic landscape. Meteors crash in on what was once a great oortian city.
Ive learned a good bit. I wish you could make certain things non-destructible. Then there would be a lot you could do.
So I figured out how to make instances (prefabs). And made a tiny house and garden.
Added it to the same biome I was messing with earlier. Trying to make a village.
Need to build a few different houses still but I think it may work.
hmmm interesting, so prefabs can be made at 1 plot? 8x8x8 cubes? they can be merged together
those huts made from tangles/sponge/trampolines are usually 2-3 plots combined
but possibilities are endless if you can use all the available mats?
im not saying, getting exo with pppremades made of oort seams aounds awesome ![]()
same as houses/temples/ruins made from lucent decos ![]()
all regenable ofc
@jon-eric
we all want oort seams be add to game but what if they can be just add this way? as premades at exo planets?
also, what if we can just get T1-3 exos just to farm premades?
what do you think? we have exos already, they can be modified, bet its possible to make T1-3 exo?
premades can be made by those familiar with WorldBuilder ![]()
also i think, we just can make contest for premades, build a structure stuffed into given size, eg 1 plot, 2 plots, 4 plots ![]()
Oort seams are not available in the worldbuilder.
We can do pre-mades, but the problem I found would be technically someone could say gather a premade and regen it over and over and farm the doors and windows and mint them all day for tons of coin. As great as that sounds, it does sound a little game breaking.
I do think you can make some really cool prefabs though. I have made several very large ones in testing and some smaller ones.
Oort seams being a part of special T8 Oort exos sound more likely to me, since they could have a purple/dark color theme going for them. Maybe they would even require going to a T7 exo first, and then warping from that to the T8. Sort-of a chain thing like other tiers.
i ment a building blocks, not doors or windows, just blocks as we can now farm marbles at event exos ![]()
besides, we can farm blocks all day long and mint them already, some players still do it with gleam and doors right? also same they do with growth and sponge farming orbs ![]()
getting cool lucent deco blocks from premades at exos would be nice ![]()
You remind me I should go farm gleam to mint again.
Getting deco lucents is a hard no from me. There are a couple doors and some glass in the houses. But nothing of significance value.
The materials you can use are quite limited as well. And I’m not building with any of the better materials available because I know people will sit and bot farm it all day and night.
Other special event exo’s have had a few different blocks in small quantities so i think what I’ve used is fine. Nothing anyone is going to get rich over. Doors will take more hits to break so more wear on the tools used to break them. And they’re wood doors and they will be in one colour. So people would likely have to spray them to use them. But maybe that’s a good opportunity for someone who sells doors.
Everyone could use the regular glass. So people with a glass store or forgers would likely be interested in that. Making more people interested in going to exos is a good thing. Infact anything new is a good thing as long as it isn’t game breaking. I did put a table and 2 chairs in one of the houses I made which I just thought was more immersive in an abandoned village. I also have a small bed in the house with 3 trampoline blocks. Something else that we’ve already had on an exo.
Anything I build will not be game breaking. Just new things to explore on exos. And possibly a block here or there of value to increase people’s want to explore exos.
I totally agree. Anything that gives the feeling of ancient civilizations being on a planet you’re exploring.
These are what I’ve built so far for this village biome.
Think I may make a well and a few other smaller things to go along with this village set of prefabs.
Keep it going ![]()
Here are some good videos on the World Builder.
The world builder is pretty complex, but making prefabs are easy and if anyone else is interested in looking into doing prefabs I’m sure we can make that happen or even planets/biomes.
Maybe someone can make a more simplified video on how to make prefabs as a start.
After speaking to Jon-Eric some, we can create a contest for prefabs in the near future where people can create them and the community can vote on them and the winners can have their prefabs put on future exos along with winning some prizes.
Red Lotus helped me out. So now I can see how it would all looks in game and I don’t have to take pictures of the screen.
Ty sir.
This is at the bottom of the well.
Is the world builder available to download somewhere? I’d be interested in a prefab building contest.
Sadly the only way currently to get it is by getting assigned an adventurer steam key upgrade by @jon-eric . Would be awesome if it could just be given to everyone though.
Just reach out to @Jon-Eric.
