Worth coming back?

I think they added the ability to recover my stuff, after I quit? right? also I am sol? right?

They also have not added anything, right? I last played 2019.

People even play this still? still only like 4 monster types on each world?

also new owners, I noticed… they worthless? er not-boundless?

They are still buying the game, it hasn’t be finished being acquired… They will build a dev team after that is finished, and have stated their first goal it to improve the New Player Experience.

Community is still a bit small, but several people seem to be coming back lately.

Oh, as long as your beacons expired after they added the “reclaim” system, yes your stuff is still here, if they expired BEFORE they added it, then No, its still gone, the code to track and save it wasn’t in the game yet.

There are just Spitters, hoppers, Roadrunners, and Cuttletrunks yes, with several different levels of them being stronger in general on higher level planets.

2019? I think that is before Exo planets right? they are temp planets, often with rarer colors, and the level 7 ones have Lucent materials which make stronger tools and weapons (and are more flashy looking). all of the exos tend to have, goo, resin, and petrolim. on them (which are used to make several blocks and fuels. Goo is a farming thing (I’m fairly sure the introduction of farming was 2019) that can be made into color changing material to change the color of the blocks that tend to use the different colors (excluding Gleam I think).

Other things, we have the Crysominter, to make coin out of items, spray painting of blocks, lattice chisels, unchisels, emojis on signs… I’m sure I’m forgetting things.

It will likely be some time until active development comes back, the new owners have patched a couple of bugs by pulling devs off of other things before I think, but that was just to keep things running I believe. So I understand if you want to sit out for awhile, but there still is a fun game here if you like what it currently is.

yeah was before exoplanets and before the code was added. I ran about 1.2k plots worth of mud? harvesting and shops on all of the difficult planets. Blacksmiths supplied me the wares, I built safe farms for the community on hard planets and made guarenteed sales of perfect pickaxes etc? I took a cut off of the sales as a middle man. All of that is gone eh? enough players for a system still like that? they still run major hubs?

I will just answer a few of your questions.

Is it worth coming back?
If you liked it before you’d most likely enjoy it now. Not a whole lot has changed that I am aware of, but since I wasn’t playing in 2019 it sounds like there were Exoplanets added and several other things as @Fiffer13 mentioned.

Yup not a lot of people and I’m sure there are several alts, but I think the community is still active.

I think it is way too early to comment on this. Far from worthless though. I’ve reached out to them and had responses very quickly. As far as future development that seems to be on the horizon, but it’s a wait and see sort of thing.

Just to add if you do come back and play and need some help just reach out. @Iniquitouslegion

Thanks, so does this mean all of the old infrastructure is gone too? like portal hubs etc?

Portal Seekers is gone, but TNT is still up. Those are the only ones I use and know of being around back then. Someone else might chime in.

Dragon Hub is new and quite nice I tend to use it alot.

Major hubs exist yes, although likely not the same ones you remember. I think the oldest network that still stands is Ultima, but TNT is probably the main community Hub, and Dragon’s Lair is also popular. I know of a couple others, but I’ve not used them personally.

There are several farming things out there for some mats, I don’t know personally how popular all of them are, lately I’ve only used gleam ones, I probably used one of your old ones if it was growth, I remember farming growth in the old days…

I’m sure there are many people here that will help you get back on your feet if you do decided to come back.

I just came back myself and I’m remembering why I put so many hours in the first time. Definitely worth playing if you’ve got the time and TNT is still up and running and connected to everything.

In 2020, they added beacon reclaims. If you forget to fuel your beacons or to pay for Gleam Club, your items are stored/saved for you, for when you return.
They also added Exo planets (as mentioned), and player-rented Sovereign planets. There are hundreds active right now: Boundlexx - The Boundless Lexicon & Sovereign Worlds | Boundless Crafting

Some items can be searched here: Boundless Universal Trade Tracker

The game is currently being transitioned over to the new owners, Monumental.

I forgot about Sovereign and creative worlds! I’m dumb sometimes

The BUTT is great, and you can track items for sale or being bought on the planet you are currently on via the Knowledge tab in your menus too.

You can always warp for free to your “home beacon” from anywhere in the universe, and if you are on a planet (or sanctum) you can open a warp to that planet’s capital city (by selecting the world as the warp destination).

welcome back! :v:

I have to remember what everything is, this stuff worth putting aside til I remember?

Couldn’t hurt. You can build or buy a cheap storage container in your starting base and throw everything in there. Could be a good opportunity to learn how to use BUTT: Boundless Universal Trade Tracker and figure out where everything is again.

thats new, thanks lol B.U.T.T.

It really comes in handy for finding which world the deals are on. Pairs very well with the knowledge menu in-game and the “buy from” tab when you’re on the right planet.

yeah, when I played this did not exist. Made it so, if you wanted a SALE you had to make people have a reason to come to you… made it easy for people like me to control the market. Unlimited everything, is kind of what led to me quiting in the first place.

This is really cool, thanks.

Welcome back.

In regards to your inventory. Those red candy canes have value.
Same with oortstones, hopper eyes and cores as well. So definitely keep that stuff.

:v::beers:

hey those candy canes, why are they worth so much more than the green and what were they for? I only have like 70 or so.

They are only available from the Christmas event from snowball meteors. And you don’t get a lot from each meteor making them more difficult to get.

They’re used for some of the Christmas craftable items.
