It’s getting close to the end of the year and as such I’m just checking in to see if there is any progress on hiring a development team or has this game been deemed not viable enough?

The crazy thing is, I’m 100% confident that with a few updates and a proper marketing campaign, this game would absolutely blow up. That said, yes, it’s been a long time and we’ve heard nothing about development updates. Leads me to believe they don’t have any plans…

not only that @Dhusk I’m pretty sure a little communication from the team will make people return to the game
I understand the frustration.
and I do understand that the developers are busy,
but it takes just a few minutes of their time to let their community know what is going on.
for me, I could care less, but I’m in full thought support for the rest that does care.

Last i heard they didn’t even completely own the game yet, things still getting moved over

At this point i wonder if they even ever started with the transfer… 
some little update over their progress would be already good enough. Are they already 50% done? Are we close to be done? What would be the expectation of when it could be roughly done? If they would do regular transferring like at least once a month finding time to transfer a good chunk that is maybe 10-20% worth of the whole data, then they could give atleast some very rough estimate. They cant of course if the time they take is too irregular or they didnt even start yet. Just an example and just my 2 cents what is going through my head…

I mean they have been really quiet about any sort of progress. I would like to not assume anything about this game because I’m probably just going to be negative. It’s sad because literally my favorite game I have ever played and if it kept things fresh with consistent updates I would still be playing it. But I just can’t grind the same few mobs until I’m dead.

The game is so bare they could just remake it from the ground up at this point with what little bit of back door mechanics they did receive. And still probably release an update early next year . Although that depends greatly on the size of the team they wish to hire for this game.
Everyone clamoring for updates and changes. It’ll happen when they’re ready…not before. And so far, I’ve only seen one new hire for the dev team. But that’s at least something.

Was thinking about whether there had been an update I missed as well, hence how I wound up here. I find it kind of sad that the biggest thing we were upset about before was a lack of communication, and now we’re feeling the lack of communication all over again and still stuck in this loop of wondering what’s going to happen to the game, if anything.

contacted them directly they are still transferring data and will update the forums as soon as it’s done.

I’m still blown away that transferring IP, and migrating code to new servers can take 1-2 years lol. It’s like we stepped back in time before dialup

Well when you only have about 2 devs on each end, I imagine it takes a while. Plus there is the issue of this moving from a UK based company to a US based one. I’d imagine there’s a number of international laws that would further restrict the flow of data.
I’ll have to give @Tiggs credit, because she at least will answer e-mails in a timely fashion even if it’s to tell you that they’re still in the process.
I’m going to play the game and enjoy what we have instead of whining about when development starts again.
Honestly, we should be THANKFUL we even still have a game to play. Wonderstruck could have just as easily shut the game down in January 2020 and called it a day.

The only “truth” I see on multiple forum posts is that they are refusing to give us an update.
Even if we were quite for over a year as they stated they needed a year. That year has passed so we ARE ALLOWED to ask for updates.
Expect more posts where people ask for an update if Monumental does not communicate to us.

They said they needed AT LEAST a year. That implies a year minimum and possibly more time than that.
