A request to stop nerfing fun

Actually… If a feature was there, and then gets removed, that can easily be seen as false advertisement if the player bought the game for that specific feature.

If the feature was never there, then why would people buy the game and complain about it? But if a feature was there, was sold with that feature, and it was used by players. And then it’s suddenly removed. Complaining about it is very justified. That isn’t trolling, that’s customers freaking out because what they have is not the same as what they bought.

Yeah, that’s why I was comparing 3x3 high forged diamond hammers (I haven’t tried emerald ones yet, I prefer the higher block damage of diamond) to forged topaz bombs. They’re (in my view) both the apex of their respective lines, and I know for a fact that I couldn’t get 500 gems in less than an hour with one.

(Granted, they still perform much better than unforged stuff, but still on a good day, without running into areas completely mined out by bombs, that would be like 100-150 gems / hour at tier 6 for me)

Who’s giving out spaceships? Can I get one?

I like Elite, but I find it difficult to play because the devs there keep nerfing anything that works well and make the game more of a grind. It’s a fun game, but the grind is in the way.

I like NMS too. I stopped because I’d rather build things other people can see and walk around in than build alone. Also I left Euclid and it feels like a bit of a mixed bag; I never went to go see all the cool stuff people were doing in the hub there. I’ll play more NMS at some point.

There is fun content in Boundless, but I’m worried the grind will more frequently get in the way. I’d much rather I play through fun content, and take a break for a while, than have an exhausting grind that turns me off from playing at all.

[OffTopic warrning!]

Yeah, elite had that problem and I’ve moved on for the same reason. Love playing it but, for crying out loud, grinding those engineers would be painful. Than all other changes come in… Maybe i will try it again in a year or so if its still available. Starting kind of fresh…
No man sky is tougher to define. Probably its just too empty. And there is still Dual Universe, but this game is shrouded in mystery and I have serious doubts what will happen with it :frowning:
Boundless feels like nice substitute for all of those. It has most of the same elements (minus spaceships :frowning: ) and right now is way more fun because of community around it.

Completely agree I’m new and only got to bomb mine for 4 days maybe 5. Spent everything I had to get bombs now there worthless. Can not stand the nerfs to crafting and bombs

Ummm… try to use it as instant caver makers? At least would be kinda useful.
Or keep them for a slight hope that devs maybe rollback bomb mining in a bit different form?

If mining returns to bombs it will most likely be in the form of a forge boon, so a lot of our bombs are paperweights unless they change it to no longer damage blocks so we can use it on meteors without putting a 3 plot deep hole everywhere.

Just had an interesting chain of thought and had to think of this topic. (Unrelated to bomb mining, though.)

My main char (gatherer) is 47 now, closing in on final skill build and I compared it to my old beta build (new skill trees).
And guess what the 3 (passive and boring) atmospheric protection skills (15 sp) had “cost” me?

  • Jump Epic (fun, active)
  • Rapid Fire (fun, active)
  • Agility (fun)

¯_(ツ)_/¯

Just leaving this here.

(I know it’s my decision in the end, if I take the skills over food, but as a gatherer I want to be able to enter any planet, any time without big preparations and if I understand T8s correctly you will need max protection food plus max protection skills.)

Yeah this and more I lost vs. my EA builds too. No response or murmurs about changes when I raised this during the skill changes which is a shame. Those three "fun"s there are the important thing when playing a game, particularly movement related - I don’t understand why e.g. Widescan was given to everyone for free but you have to move at a crawl and jump one block or sacrifice (much more necessary) defence.

I agree with this. None of my builds are going to be able to take the jump epics and honestly I’m pretty upset about it. When I first started playing at release (after playing EA about a year earlier) the very first thing I noticed was the absolutely ridiculous jump height and movement speed. I actually almost stopped playing right there. Now all my builds will have a required 4+ agility because without that I’d not play at all. And none of them will have the points to waste on the jump epics and it’s a MASSIVE disappointment. I feel they should remove the jump epics and make it a feature of agility so i don’t have to waste 10 points for both epics.

Maybe make them cost 1 point each, spose it’d be weird having an epic at 1 though…

At least combine them I may actually spend the 5 points if I get them both.

my plant gatherer will have this one :3

@Kirinvar it is ur choice to really use 15 skill points just on atmosphere… Why do u have to jump from one high lvl world to the next so often that cleanse points arent useful?

That depends a bit on if you still earn cleanse points past 50.
I’m just 48 and was under the impression you stop earning them post 50.
That’s why i started to save some up.

u can always buy a couple of cleanse points for cubits. And cubits u should be earning after 50…

You get cubits and a skill cleanse point every level after 50 no worries

bye bye atmosphere dominated skill sets

That’s still 5 level ups to switch planets if i don’t want to waste qubits.
But I guess once I hit lv 75 I can have a separate skill set without atmospheric protection.
