I have had a little bit of confusion in my life over the last few years, and so haven’t been playing boundless much, but I am currently in hospital with a laptop and have jumped back in, and am very sad to see no updates, or even communication on the forum. It seems with the lack of communication and updates that they don’t want to try to improve and popularise the game, but instead keep it as a little trickle of cash. I guess it would be a bad idea to do two kick starters for the same game? especially as they still didn’t give all the backer rewards yet…
agreed its super unfortunate to get everyone’s hopes up that a new team ill be working on boundless and promise to keep us updated and be transparent just for there to be no new info for a year. but i think it is coming up on two years
I hope you are soon feeling better! The relentless lack of communication has left Monumental wide open to speculation, and as time goes on that speculation has increasingly turned negative. It’s driven people from the game. I know they are aware, because I have had a conversation with them about it. It didn’t change anything and since then even more people have left. I doubt having a kickstarter for an old game would raise much, but even more I doubt people would risk their cash under the circumstances.
oh also i hope you feel better as well
I just dont understand the lack of communication you can log in and read your games fourm and see how bad the player base is holding on. and want some type of information.
The backer rewards was something Wonderstruck promised. Monumental is under no obligation to fulfill that promised reward. Any chance of getting it probably disappeared with the sale.
Although I suspect Monumental would consider going through rewards that hadn’t been processed by Wonderstruck. They must complete the “mythical” (lol) transfer though and sit down to actual game development and full asset management.
Seems every time I turn around, Monumental has acquired another studio or publisher. Then everything that isn’t a mobile game basically gets mothballed and staff gets fired. Far as I’m concerned, Monumental is performing its prime purpose, a LLC for some nice tax write-offs for Monty.
which can be a periodic target now…
we shall see
People love the game. It’s a perfect cash cow to be milked.
I’ve got plenty of greater beacon fuel. I put a polite “Not Recommended” review on steam. This is my protest.
I love playing Boundless so servers ran is ok enough for me to keep me busy in game and happy enough.
I do dream about updates though, be it local universe or swords and shields or an extea monster to be killed by. I mean defeated lol.
Anyways. No protests from me.
Posted this in Boundless Discord this morning:
The game is great as it is and to be honest, I don’t even care if the game ever gets an update as it’s enjoyable as it is now. What bothers me most is the lack of communication. When Monumental took over, we were told there would be a period of transition revolving around the transfer of the game from Wonderstruck to Monumental, we were also told it could take a year or longer to transfer, we were told there would a team built up for Boundless, we were told we would have a lot better communication from Monumental and here we are with silence and no updates.
Morally, it is very hard to stand by a game I love when Monumental has yet to prove they care about the game or its future.
FOr some reason i felt bad so i got another few months of gleamclub, then it didn’t go through when the payment came out so have emailed support.
IMO, the local universes update would kill the game. It was bad enough when Sovereigns came out and so many groups fled to their own planets. Being able to host an entire universe on your PC or a server… bad juju.
(I keep forgetting you can’t edit anymore)
I will admit, I’d love to see the shields and swords part of the update, and getting the new consolidated skill page would pretty much make me play again. It even fits in with the “NPE” focus that supposedly exists.
I have no evidence but I think they wanted the engine
22 more weeks of gleam club for me and in nothing constructive has happen to this game, then that will make my decision. The End.
That’s what i thought a while ago, but found some solace in the game again recently so i decided to get another 180 days.
I tend to buy 90 days at a time. That way I have fun, but am not overly committed.
