But don’t only cherry pick the peak values and make it all sound better than it really is.
Now place the lowest numbers as well and please stick to the average numbers for a way more fair overview.
I said the peak player count is 75 … and its probably higher considering private planets etc. It’s not cherry picking. Its stating the peak player count of 75ish which is true.
Sharing the lowest numbers though … during off peak times … the player count has been around 15.
I suppose that’s cherry picking too. Taking other games into account during off peak hours there is anywhere between 35-50% drop in player count during off peak hours. Of course there are holidays, weekends etc. etc. You need data… I’ve got it as does Host.

That is really low for a MMO like this. No advertising or any attempt to get more players was done at all.
No wonder people stop playing. Just wait till they switch off the servers and blaim the community for not playing the game anymore.

Awesome glad others keep tabs on data. Mine is much more frequent though so I can update a website close to real time.
Connecting some local servers are pretty easy to setup if you know what you’re doing 
Anyways, instead of debating on the correct counts and stuff, I’m just going to go play the game. I wish you much luck in your endeavors.

so I’m paraphrasing from what people have told me - it started with the devs actively involved, and discussing various game aspects. Their excitement fed others excitement. That died, but there were still updates, new things etc. Then promised updates didn’t happen, devs no longer talking to anyone, no new things. If prodded very hard James would occasionally assure everyone everything was well, they were just busy on BG3. Ok, people looked at that, they thought those assurances sounded very hollow and decided they weren’t interested in being strung along, so they stopped playing.
When James announced that Monumental had bought the game, a group of them came back - some have stayed, some have gone again. But others were playing other games and decided to wait and see what Monumental did. What Monumental did was the same as what James did. Only respond if prodded very hard, and give assurances that all is well while nothing seems to be happening, including building a dev team for Boundless. The ones who have spoken to me about the game tell me that simply aren’t interested in investing time and money in the game until they see actual engagement.
I think that’s fair enough. In the meantime I still play most days. Still enjoy it. Miss the people I used to play with, of course, and miss the builds they created - but still enjoying playing. That could change - depending on others, and one day I might leave too. But it’s likely I’ll be here until they turn the servers off.

I fit in the class @Eneitgranny describes. I’m also busy right now but - love the game, very few complaints.
Development went from ass-backwards to non-existent. Ignoring the fiasco of 249, frankly an improvement.
When there’s a healthy community I’ll play again. No offense meant to the few people I respect and really enjoy here. In the meantime it’s a trivial time investment, and an old habit to browse these forums.
Of course, I never made a quitting vid and sad announcement for a bit of an attention grab just to enhance my salty exit then came back a few weeks/months later, either.

@LittleEntropy the only true answer is no one knows what the dev’s are working on besides completing the transfer from Wonderstruck to Monumental.
People saying there are no dev’s, don’t know what they are talking about and should stop spreading lies.
I know first hand there are dev’s because they helped me with my issue that can only be handled on their end.

Basically, this. If Monumental does ever pick up development, this game is going to be so far behind the curve in terms of engine, graphics, etc, that they are going to have a TON of work ahead of them.
