so after talking with a few people on discord we are a bit confused with the status of the iron fist we where thinking it was going to be the Explorer+ exclusive backer weapon with the DDE gold fist being for people who joined after the fact but i have heard of people just buying the game a few days ago being able to craft the iron fist.
this begs questions is this a bug? if not is our exclusive weapon still coming some time down the road?. i know there was some confusion with the backers totem (originally nammed Wayfarer’s totem later chanaged to backers totem) so i feel this may have been the same case eather way would be nice to hear form the devs to clarify this
Did these new players actually purchase the game after the launch or could it be they are some early backers getting into the game just now?
If they did infact buy the game after launch, do they have the DDE also? If so maybe there is an other mix up with steam keys that’s granting DDE owners explorer tier backer rewards.
The wearable/usable backer rewards are all named after the tier they are granted and are as follow, explorer’s fist(iron fist), adventurer’s mask and wayfarer’s totem(titanium totem).
the person i just talked too a few min ago sayed he bought the standard game(no DDE) Monday and had the ability to craft it. its possable hes lieing but with the flood of iron fists i have seen vs the gold version i tend to believe him
If he really is able to craft them then it’s either a bug or some kind of mix up with steam keys(maybe they still have some EA standard edition keys left in the system?), but I’d switch this on the support side just to be safe, if he’s not just lieing.
that and i also dont want to become the most hated player in the game for sure the safe bet would be to call Mulligan on the fist and come up with a new wep or someting

i know this is a bit of a nerco but i been a bit but i have been checking on the badge after you posted that and it seems people as early has 2 days ago have been given the explorer badge and haveing a bit of a hard time believing backer people are still filling into the game starting to really think the system is bugged and just giveing standerd accounts backer level.
I don’t think its giving standard accounts that, I think it is giving the deluxe account that, which bug or not. i see no problem with.
I am 100% against Backer exclusive items that are non-cosmetic. Any non-cosmetic item I feel needs to be able to be unlocked by anyone, even if it means paying a higher price then the early backers did to do so. Or if the game devs insist on giving early backers special items that no one else is allowed to get for themselfs then it needs to stay that way and they need to be account-bound and cannot be used to influence the economy, and cannot be high grade item.
Right now we have 3 questionable items
Iron Fist
Gold Fist
Wayfarers Totem
2 of which conform to what I think is correct and the Totem violating what I think is correct. (Fails Soul/account bound or Fails being able to be unlocked by anyone.)
If the Iron fist really is something that the Deluxe users are not suppose to have and it is a bug. then that bugs needs to remain as a feature. It is better that way. Otherwise that to, like the Totem becomes a “bad item” in my book.
We don’t need any more exclusive items that are non-cosmetic. With all of the Doom and Gloom posts that seem to be popular theses days. Do you really want to try to find ways to alienate newer players? I would suggest leaving this alone for a long while. Having special items that make ████ ████ ████ ███ █████ ██████ is not important at this time.
yea it for sure can be put on the back burner just at the time i had found out about the possible bug i just wanted to see if it was one cuz if not then it would mean the fist was/is not the Backer exclusive wep and that it was still coming
I started playing in mid September this year. I have the level 2 backed badge and can create iron fists just to confirm.
I’m think this happened after buying the DDE but honestly I wasn’t paying a whole lot of attention at the time

just checked https://forum.playboundless.com/badges/103/explorer and can 100% confirm it with someone getting the Explorer badge 13HRs ago i would have a hard time believing we are still having EA people file in almost 6 months after launch
its possible they could be legit codes so 100% may have been a little much i would say tho unless we can get a new explorer so confirm they got there code via ebay or some other means 99% is a safe bet cuz looking at the badge page we seem to get atlest 10 a month (would be consistent with DDE sales)
