Blueprints of Buildings

People’s unique builds would be copied just as much…
The suggestion is that the beacon owner would only be able to create them, not random passers by.

I know that part, but imagine if someone actually physically copied a build. Then mass produced it.

I think that’s probably where the community ought to be involved. The counterfeiter would likely be called out, and we would likely not be ok with it. Word of mouth in forums, in game, etc, would impact their sales - I bet.

Hell, we see this in game today with signs about shops selling low-durability items

To stop people from stealing your blueprint couldn’t the system just put a tiny TM as well as a date by your building name so players can put a orginal name in their building and then people know who the orginal is? If players know bobthebuilder72 is a great builder and floods the market with originals blueprints then people can compare the date as well as the name to copiers.

I played quite a bit of Creativerse that had a very good blueprint system and the builds came from them always looked amazing, but once I started linking up with other players and checking out their worlds it was really disappointing to find they were all practically identical, really sucks the fun out of going around to check out players builds only to find it’s just the same as your own.

This game has such unique builds it would be shame to just see them just be repeated world after world. So ya blueprints are cool but I really don’t think they suit this game.

I don’t love or hate blueprints, I could go either way on that…

I would like to see beacon ownership being tradable though. Not that plots can be sold themselves, but as someone else mentioned it unplots the original owner and replots for the new owner, and it would check beforehand that the new owner has enough plots to complete the transaction

That way I could invite a builder into my town and he could build away, but as Mayor I want the scuptures in my plots (for prestige and foot traffic ofc) and so when he is done I pay him his commission and we swap ownership of the plots and done! Builder gets the satisfaction of making something awesome, while also getting paid

Blueprints is one of my favorite features of Creativerse. Would love them for Boundless but definitely see @Sulfurblade’s points. Essentially, I guess I could take blueprints of leave them.

Im thinking that there must be a way to prevent blueprinting a blueprint that has been creatred afterwards.

Like - Maybe leave a check to see if the blocks is part of a blueprint, and if it is, you can’t blueprint it, that way people wouldn’t be able to actually copy others blueprints, though some suggestions above seemed pretty good too.

Watermarking of a sort.

I wanted to bump this post. I still think we should have something where a beacon (maybe of certain chunks) can be saved and moved… or something to help us move certain sized builds… Or even something when I take the blueprint and apply it to the beacon I see it as a ghost type thing where at least I know some of the design…

I agree we definitely need this, it would make it so easy if you want to change location but don’t want to take a bunch of screenshots to remember how it was built

Tell sell beacons would be easy… Just have a craft-able item, that checks to make sure only one per beacon exists… Then the player could sell or give away the item for free or w/e they want. When the player who owns it uses it. It does a check to see if they have the plot count… If they do, it then simply transfers ownership of the beacon and plots attached to the beacon. Deducts from the new owners plot count, then refunds the plots from the old owner… To counter people never using the item… make it expire after 5 days or so.

I have no idea how your response at all to the ability to move a build or something. This is not about selling stuff. It is about a person being able to take a blueprint and move it to another location. Like pick a building up and put it on another planet.

YES! I would love this…

You build a super place…and then this new PERFECT planet arrives… allows you to recreate portions of your previous base…

I SUGGEST that you could mark the area/areas you want to create a blueprint of. Clearly if I made a city but wanted only particular structures etc it would be VERY VERY nice to save them and redeploy them later. There is a game on Steam called Rising World that has this type of system…

Let the player save their blueprints to a personal booklet and then (make it easy and cheap) allow them to create a blueprint (as many as they wish) to carry for the purpose of trading.

I made another post about something like this, didn’t realize there already was one

My idea just revolves around single plots but I would love to be able to save builds and move them entirely. There’s still room for griefing though, so maybe putting in a build time depending on size and making the player clear the area manually could minimize most of that. Without a proper rebuild time a player could bypass the time it should take to plot it out.
