So, i went to Besevrona for a mining expedition, and after beating my hammer against rocks for an hour i remembered i had some copper bombs back at home so, a warp, a couple deaths, and portal jumps later i was back in my hole with some bombs. I respecd my character gave him an extra corrosion skill and set to it. Im only level 18 at this point so granted it takes a lot of bombs… What bothered me was that the sand was staying behind, when it used to be gone first and typically has less “hp” than rock and other materials. So, i started experimenting.
in the first picture i smacked that iron seam with my hammer just to see how much damage i did.
The second and third are at the same number of bombs, after that it gets weird. When a regular block goes from blue to green it “seems” to take less damage from the bombs campared to the iron seam(and other materials[coal, fossils etc]). So, i was destroying the materials i was mining for before i could even see them! Whats the deal?!
they should not destroy ores??? a friend says its base don damage and that they willl destroy ALL blocks (ncluding ores) bomb mining is just to speed your mining TO the resources @Bryethewizard
Not really, in the old universe, if you specd properly, which im not saying i did, you could easily mine the resources most of the time(the crit hits is what got you) and resources have consistently had more “hp” than rocks and always more than sand. If you watch @Jiivita he replaces sand blocks with rocks because they destroy first… So my point is just that, why is there still sand, and why are my resources being destroyed before the rocks?
I think its the chit dmg that does it Eatch block that get hit has a change to be crit I think thats why it can do that or it may be a skill you have. I dont have any problems with it at all atm
Ive already respecd back and gone home with my pitiful bounty, so i cant say for sure. I hope thats the case and will try again in the future. I got what i went for, some silver.
They’re considered to be a weapon and were designed to be for that purpose. Which is why they’ve been nerfed against blocks (or blocks have more resistance to them but same result).
Jiivita’s video about bombs quickly became outdated the moment the nerfs went through.
Although bomb mining is still possible, it’s more of a gem bomb and higher type of thing now and require a specific build and specific forged things on bombs. It sucks, cause that specific build requires less Luck which means less resources from the resource blocks. On the old universe before all bomb radius was reduced slightly (another nerf for the Centraforge update) the Diamond Bombs were the best to use since they had the largest radius.
Even if you lose some of the resources you bomb mine, you make up for it if you’re able to use less bombs on top of destroying them faster and uncover a larger amount of block surfaces per clearing. So even with max Luck and losing out on 20-30% of resources, you’re still potentially net positive on your bomb mining runs. In the old universe I would get hundreds of Titanium, Iron, Copper, Coal, and Diamonds.
The real question I want to figure out is: is a Forged Diamond Bomb better than a Forged Diamond Hammer with both having as close to full damage and AOE as possible?
I am leaning more towards that hammer doing more and that’s mostly cause of the Action Speed you can put on it.
I was thinking the same. If they’re intended use is as a weapon then they shouldn’t destroy blocks, like the slingbow. I remember a short period of time when the higher tier slingbows did damage the reg blocks, though.
The problem you will destroy the source is because blocks on every planet have different armor value.
You need to use bomb on higher level planet, so it won’t destroy the source block you need.
Also you need the Bomb skill / Bomb Epic to find the balance damage number on certain planet.
The problem we have right now is both "Bomb Epic / Bomb skill has no function
I reported it on the Bug report thread, hope Dev team will fix next patch
The skills boms are working, the reazon of the different damage its forma the critical rate, if you un muy case i need 8 copper bombs un lvl 5 planet to not broke the resourse, but when the bombs hit critically, muy damage for the 8 bombs its up, the result its obious, the resourses are broken. (Sorry forma muy english :()
so, what your saying is every resource was hit critically everytime??? i find that a little hard to believe fellas. especially when you consider that i was using copper bombs which has a base 10% crit chance.
