Suggestion for future updates: Put the shop location coordinates on the Shop page on Butt. Could help a few folks out.
Keep up the great work.

Unfortunately there isn’t really a way to do that since the “shop page” is just a list of items where the beacon name matches. The items could be on multiple planets in multiple places.
OK, cheers, mate.
Hi just wanted to say thanks for butt it saves me so much time
“geospatiotemporal analysis” might sound fun to you I haven’t ben keeping up enough to know if the 4th dimension finally got a good GIS+T solution yet, but I soooo wanted to set up a citizen journalism site based on it
Haha well those subjects do look rich with data, but I’m trying to stick to Boundless-specific stuff.
I actually did make a bit of a trade index that I recorded at the end of the last two months, though I’m thinking of making some changes and restarting next week.
From January to February, the Oorty Jones Industrial Average rose 10 points, due to a substantial rise in the raw goods composite and in spite of the slipping crafting material and end consumer product composites
Can you add in a feature that shows volume/quantity being traded for an item on a daily or weekly basis?
The data isn’t granular enough for that, we only know the volume deltas with time periods counted in hours. Estimates could be made, but I don’t like estimates
I think we should turn off b.u.t.t. for a week so they cool off and no s (O.O)
I’m going to add to what Mayu said, the data isn’t there to support this being accurate.
“Estimates” but really just guesses, and based on some past conversations, the amount of stuff people move around would make this data very deceptive, even before people started trying to manipulate it.
The API says what’s on shop stands, right now. Nothing else. There’s no way to tell if something was sold or moved, so charting in/out of shop stands - I could “sell” the same stack of hammers as many times as BUTT scans a planet, each day. Etc…
No bueno because people will use that info to make decisions.
I’m not sure why you posted this but I’m still laughing about it. The shop API really wrecked my shop keeping this might actually encourage me to play more
The beacon view now displays beacon name when it doesn’t match the queried one. If you place and name your beacons carefully, you can make more detailed shop listings like this
https://butt.boundless.mayumi.fi/#beacon=GForge
This shows all beacons which include “GForge” in their name. You can find your full beacon query by searching for an item that’s visible in BUTT (on a shop stand or requested in that beacon) and pressing the beacon name, useful if you have colors or emojis in there since the name has to be converted to a URL-safe format for links.
The beacon listing can also sort orders by most columns by pressing the column name
Great feature. It is really nice that it allows to structure shops like this and have it displayed in one place now.
One idea to make it even nicer without url manipulation:
Works great for multi shop setups too
That might work for some setups The feature as a whole is a bit of a bandaid, maybe I can come up with something better than the beacon name dictating everything. It’s very limiting.
Glad to see you back and more active @Mayumichi
Appreciate all you do.
Couldn’t even imagine playing without your BUTT at this point, thank you SO much for your work!
there, fixed it for you
you’re welcome
Yep the BUTT jokes are almost as fun as the site
Is this still being updated. If not are you open to pull requests? I have ideas
It’s in maintenance mode pretty much, what kind of ideas we talking about?
Well in that case, skipping the crazy ideas… one would be a player blacklist. There are unreachable scam shops that I wouldn’t mind never seeing again.
