Thanks everyone - this is likely related to the following:

Looks like our “fix” for the portal crashes has broken other stuff. Yay us.

As with the other issue - the server has authority for everything, so whilst the client may be reporting rubbish (client! you’re drunk - go home!) - the entities don’t actually have these strange states. So whilst confusing and misleading the game should still be operating correctly.
