Can anyone help me with spray tint rules?

As the stupidly proud parent of lavender, I want to use it right, so am trying to come up with a list of what is paintable and what is not and when is the best time to paint it. Ther eis no way to ask this question without forcing headaches on everyone, muh bad.

Here is what i have so far:
Concrete-tint end result since you can’t tint sand?
marble-tint at the refined stone stage, though you can tint marble, of course.
Gravel-if one wants to paint gravel, looks like the stone is a better choice for the tinting? 72 stone (mass craft) to make 100?
Refined gravel-paint the gravel since it’s 10 gravel to 4 refined?
If I’m making refined gravel FROM ROCK (so rock to gravel then refined), it’s sitll better to tint the rock?
Brick- better to do end result since 6 stone makes 4 bricks?
Mosaic-paint the mosaic since it’s 5 gravel to 4 Mosaics?
Can tint storage, chairs, tables, signs and doors, except gleam versions?

Can’t spray:
foliage, gleam, metal, sand, glass.

There is an earlier thread with good information here:

Clearly I failed search terms school cause I tried to look for a thread like this!!! Thanks!

The list of what you can and can’t paint should change in an upcoming update if MM decides to push it after the NPE fixes.

Recipe trees are a great way to figure out when you should be spraying your blocks. Just put in your end result and look at which sprayable block you need the least of. Of course, make sure you only pick the block where the colours come from i.e. Rock for brick and not the clay soil.
