Can not make Gold Stylish Metal Door

The recipe calls for any base metal and spark link. So do gold bars not count as base metal? I know the difference between gold bars and gold alloy. I would like to make some gold stylish metal doors. Seems like a bug

I think you have to use gleam or wood or base metal to make stylish doors. Base metal = copper or iron.

For now, we can only use iron or copper.

A gold bar should be a base metal of gold its what you get from furnace just the same as copper or iron and if its not a base metal that lame

There is a way to make gold doors, though I am unsure of how.

You might need to try crafting it with gold alloy. I’ll edit this post in a minute or two when I have an answer for you.

I have the middle gold doors but i want the one on the left in gold

Ornate, yes. Made in the refinery from alloys.

Stylish, no. To my knowledge.

Based on the recipes I just looked at, only ornates are gold/silver. The rest are copper/iron.

Well thats something the Devs need to work on then

Gold is a precious metal.

Iron and copper are base metals (there is a list in this article including both):

Assuming you mean door styles and not metal classifications, I would like this too. At this time there is no door to be made with titanium at all.

I’m gonna change this category to “General” since it’s working as intended and there is no bug listed.

For crafting doors it should count as a base metal. I dont see why we shouldn’t be able to.

because gold isn’t a base metal, irl or in game, so why should you be able to craft a door with gold when it requires base metals?

I agree that we should be allowed to craft stylish metal doors with whatever metal we choose, including Gold, Silver, Titanium. What we’re getting caught up in here is ‘terminology’ which I think is besides the point that BloodRaven is trying to make.

So, to keep everyone happy, what’s needed here is a change in both what metals can be used to craft said doors AND a change in the terminology in-game.

The terminology in game is correct.

More doors are better. Titanium styles, please.

Yes, the terminology is indeed correct. However, it seems to be a limiting factor on what metals can be used to craft some doors. Changing or removing the terminology as it is now would allow the devs to lift the restrictions.

Oh changing the recipe you mean? Yes completely agree. They could change the recipe to “any metal” and that would be great. I’m not sure why this is different from signs.

I thought you meant about the base metals and the precious metals.

I was irked a bit by this as well. Sure it calls for base metal, but that can be misconstrued to mean any bar type metal fresh out the furnace, which is what I would find ideal. It would be really nice to have titanium anything without having to mix it with an already precious alloy. Gold and silver bars are also useless until they’re in alloy form. It seems an easy deal to just add a few more door colors and let people use the bars.

Oddly enough not for signs! Not that I’m complaining about that tho

Sign modules, poles, and beams at least can be made with any metal bar.

The ornate models do require precious alloy as an ingredient but that is not what determines the color of the finished product.
