It would be nice to have the request basket display their item even when the budget is depleted only to shop owners and those that have perms. For the customers, it would act the same and undisplay the item once the budget is gone.
The reason i ask is because it was a lot easier to determine what i was actually buying and organize rather then shuffle through a bunch of empty coin basket. Its not a big deal but i think it would be a quality of life improvement for shop owners.
I like to see when my baskets are empty. But that doesn’t necessarily mean the current way is the best way. I’m hoping this current way is a quick dirty version of all the suggested stuff, for example here the cloth colour would indicate the basket status. Don’t know what exactly the devs are planning.
I must say it’s annoying me they appear empty now. Preffered to see them to remember what I had placed in baskets.
For selling players, its easy enough to aim at baskets to check if there is budget available.
For basket owner like me, rather silly to be forced to interact to recall what items were offered.
I guess since I only really have 50 request baskets I might be an exception. I can remember perfectly what is requested in what basket, and I am happy to have the ability to see what is empty of coin at a glance (current system).
Previously the request baskets worked in the manner you are requesting, personally I find that option difficult for the buyer since everyone looks like they are buying things even though there is no coin in the basket. I’m all for aiding the consumer side of the business since without them there is no business.
This is a BIG dectractor for me, it’s not good to leave the customer disappointed in your shop when they feel lured in by an empty basket. Combined with the UI blocking the price display for a while if the shop is it’s own settlement, like they usually are in a mall-like setup after the guilds update, made me dislike selling stuff a lot.
I prefer the current version more, but I don’t have many baskets either and the few are labeled so I’m biased to be the seller.
I was pleasantly surprised when I found out this changed. It’s really a tidy system now as is. You also get a notification when a basket or shop stand is bought out, so I don’t really see the problem.
I like options. Empty for the seller is perfect. A toggle in settings or in the stand itself for the buyer would also be perfect. I barely own a shop so honestly idc either way atm
When I did use request baskets it was fairly easy to remember what was where. But I like to remember where I put things. If I was to do a big store and a lot of request baskets. I would have them grouped together by type and in alphabetical order. So again it would be easy to remember what’s where. Plus I don’t understand putting out request baskets for stuff you need and forgetting what you put out.
I think you slightly misunderstood what im suggesting. I don’t want it to change for the consumer. It should appear empty when you are a customer however what I’d like see is the option for shop owner or for those that have perms to be able toggle an option to showcase the basket display at all times. It wouldn’t affect buyers. I got through all my resquest basket anyways so having them by displayed would be astectically pleasing but also easier to see what i put up since i change the items i request for often.
That’s because it’s not a problem, it’s a preference issue.

Easy, maybe, but a bit annoying after the 5th shop when there isn’t any coin. This headfake is probably 90% of why players get burnt out with trying to run around selling things to baskets.
Most of the time, players are trying to run around to sell a couple of specific items. If it’s a popular item, they’re having to aim at the baskets in 20 different shops if the item is still shown. This used to bug me because if I had an unsuccessful trip, I realized that shop owners just got footfall for “pretending” to buy a popular item.
Good point, a different view for owners would be helpful. I spose in my case i have buy baskets next to the equivilant sell stand, so its easy to see what goes where, but i can see how it would be a pain for owners that did it pretty any other way.
