@Buugi seeing how the red cane drop rates haven’t been increased (or crafting made cheaper), I haven’t yet found the motivation to jump in into this event. Guess same goes for you?

Now, we have people from all over the globe. While those timezones may not work for you, it will for some others. That doesn’t automatically make them no lifers just cause their timezone works with the hunts that happen regularly. No need for implying such things and saying it’s not my fault you feel that way cause I worded my defense as such.
Also, this is a game. they work around the feelings of achievement. As so, the more time you invest, it’s logical you get more rewards for it. If you feel you get less compared to those ‘no lifers’ it is only because they invest more time than you do into this, otherwise they will find the game unfair if somebody that only logs in for half an hour a day can achieve the same as they do for investing hours.

I absolutely hate not participating in Boundless events but aaah what can I do. Next best thing is to shell a ludicrous 1k or so per cane which I also won’t do .

I am on my phone so not sure if this reply is directed at me. Thanks though I appreciate your kind offer. I meant the red canes (1k per piece) not the totems. I do have a few event totems and a few canes of both colors from the old event so all good for now

Trick on the red canes - run around with your alts to any completed ones, actually got three red canes off a completed one, though one is more usual. I’m doing this on Oortmas Hunting Ground, doing my hunting in a cluster around the portal in, have the region centers around there marked with poles, so fairly easy hunting, and makes it easier to remember where they fell to have those poles to see where I am. There are two completed ones right now on the main ice sheet there, a few quick canes.
That said, right now seems more efficient time wise to just mine my most profitable rental and buy them in my DK Mall basket, since I’ve sort of given up on the lv 2 ones and just do the 1s now. There is a little bidding war going on now, but currently at around 850c, people are selling them. I could go 1000c and probably still be better off that way.

One red cane per meteor though? I think I’ve only explored 40 regions at most on Alder and solo’d fewer meteors than regions and have close to 200 red canes. But I do hit lvl 2’s and the occasional 3 I guess when other people are in the region.
My bird’s nest technique is rock solid unless it’s in a forest. Even so, I’ve been getting good at grappling the spitters to yank them from the trees. Only lost one meteor so far and it was because I let my hubris get the best of me and decided to “perform the dab emote 
” halfway through and got picked off by a mighty on a tree top.

About 8-13 per core 5/6 meteor.

I usually get 4-7 soloing the lv 1s, and then generally one off the completed ones, but did get 3 at least once off one of those. 
I’ve got 45 region centers with portals on Oortmas Land too, but lately sticking to Oortmas Hunting Grounds as it is a little easier with the poles to see, plus a lot more hat mobs there in the snow biomes. The meteors hitting ice is good too, a lot easier to see the Spitters than in the grass!
