Why is this a thing? Is a real-time universal chat server really so hard? What am I missing?
Because the devs believe its much better for chat to be periodically polled from the servers instead of having chat automatically pushed out to clients like 99.99% of all other instant-message based systems.
I too would like chat to be real-time with NO delays whatsoever. Its not a mail system, its a CHAT system.
