Super Guide @Merln, i was thinking however of replacing the Fate Paste, with Stabilization Paste. Does the Fate paste make the slider land that much better? Everytime i use it, i feel like its a waste of Stability. with the stabilization paste, you could probably go enough rounds even with bad sliders to make up for it. no?

Why and what’s your method?

Thank you very much, Merln.
I just started to learn Forging, since our townmate who did it whole time is absend.
I listened carefully to your hints. And forged my very first own Hammer:

I guess i got it

I need now to investigate a bit more, to get other useful forges… totally Noob, but i am willing to learn

Yes. When I use it often times but not always the slider will land in the 80% or higher zone. I find that it is well worth the cost in stability to use it, Are you using Grade I or II of it?

uhm… the fate paste cost how much vigour?

i think 150 or 200. but i would need to look it up

I was wrong, its 100, may have been thinking 150 because thats what it would cost with the draining debuff going

I’m using Fate Paste 2. I must be having bad luck. 1 out of 4 times it lands below 50% for me. It just seems like I dont have a problem managing vigor, but just 50 more stability would give me another round. and 200 more would give me 2. I’ll have to try it on a single craft one of these days. The Fate is working tho, so if it ain’t broke… y’know =P

i dont understand what this means

But the cost to use fate paste II is well worth it if you get at least 3 or more of the procs from it going. there has been countless times where i found myself wishing i had used the fate paste because of a few sub 30% rolls, when i opted not to for some reason, thinking it was a little to close to the end.

100 vigor AND 100 stability to use it. the stability is what kills me. But again… i can’t complain, they come out just fine

I’ll try the Stability Paste on a test craft when i get a chance. <-- was all i was saying =P

And I’d say you are correct. anything I roll over 3 times gets the paste for sure

The only time the fate paste was not worth it for me,is if i had to remove it prematurely with the vigor catalyst.

but I do feel that the elevated chance for higher roll will out do, having more rolls that still have a fair chance of being low rolls,

with the fate paste, i feel you are taking some of the RNG out of the situation, compaired to the other thing you mentioned, which i have not used, the RNG is still there, you are just getting a few extra shots at it.

And as someone who dislikes RNG, I prefer to take as much control of the situation as I can.

“You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.”

Fate paste 2 is always worth bringing because of 3 extra chances at a roll
