Sadly all items will be available for use in testing servers so hold your precious secrets close cuz now it’s just a matter of time of people tinkering with the infinite resources in testing to find the most effective/consistent way of forging.

That’s good. And when they do they can sell their hard earned forged goods for whatever they please. I’m not saying they can’t. I’m saying that I won’t contribute in that.
I have no problem selling cheap forged tools. But I won’t give out our secrets so others can make forged tools then price them x3 the worth. Our goal is to LOWER the prices of forged products, not enable selfish people to force the prices higher since they would outnumber us.
Everyone can forge and anyone can forge there’s no difficulty to it. It’s just trial and error if your high prized forging technique is so awesome why not share to everyone you sell hammers too. I get what your saying but at the same time your saying you want to control the market. So what if whoever wants to sell it for 50k your still selling it for???18-25k? On top of that there’s going to be someone who forges the exact same way eventually. Unless you think your better than everyone else. If thats the case just keep your method lol

Congratz. That’s not a bad hammer at all. And you’re right. It’s not hard to make forged tools at all. That’s why I don’t understand why everyone is getting mad that I won’t share our rotation and material list.
Not mad just seems the reasoning is a little backwards. Don’t want people selling hammers made with our method. Even though there can only be so many methods. (In reality Japanese steel isn’t as great as everyone hyped it up to be).
Aye. But people also consider japanese steel special because it was not obtained by everyone. Not that that has anything to do with this. There is nothing special about our forged tools except the prices.

This makes ZERO sense. You are not lowering the price because you are restricting access. Increase access/supply will drive prices down through competition. Regardless this is the only forge method you need for T6 making hammers anyways. It’s the most resource efficient method. You only really need rank 9 dmg and lvl 4 AOE to make a 1 hit T6 hammer. Anything else is just gravy.

You must not have noticed the levels of greed in Boundless. More supply doesn’t lower the prices. It just makes more people with high prices.

If one shop has really high supply and make the price very low.
Every customer can buy the gears / machines they are looking for with very cheap price.
Of course people will choose the cheap store.
The problems is that store can re-fill the items in time or not.
If not, other people who sell expansive price can still sell some during the period.
However, due to merlin’s power coil shop, you will see his power coils always fill up,
So its impossible for you guys to stop him lowering the market price.
Of course you can choose remain the high price, but no one will buy it at your shop.
(At least some one know his shop will know this is the shop they are looking for)

The issue is that i have no clue about the shop prices since this game has a high inflation rate. People pay 200 coins for a specific item and i can farm 1-2k+ of that type per hour. Imagine how much footfall the people in “Ultima HQ”, “around PS Hubs on T5/T6” or others get per DAY if they can pay that price.
This is the rng of forging here. Why you can only be 90% sure you’ll get what you want using the right materials
@Merln has been hugely helpful with his revised video honestly, I had no idea you could just zero out the boons and abandon the forge all together. Have been putting out much more consistent results since that.
Costs you a few matts but, definitely better then having a bunch of near useless hammers lying around, I’m honestly just going to start handing them out to newbs.
If only there was space for 1 more ingredient so I could have stabilization paste back, would be perfect, but still a lot better then before.

i usually similar method as merlin,
But slightly different.
My way is try to get all the 3 boon i am looking for.
and then make lvl 4 aoe first, and next max damage , last will try to add some lvl for durability or action speed.
Wow. So I just now saw this new method, and you blew my mind with the fact that you can use Setting Resin with no boons applied and get back the tools to try again. That’s legitimately a game changer. Thank you for everything you have done for the community in helping us all learn the Forge. 
The prices are probably that high because the shops can’t get many of them which in turn means people can’t seem to get enough of them either.
Doesn’t mean tho that for quite a few items they charge way, way too darn much, tho there are still some for me that I can’t seem to easily get (am looking at you salty peter, ehh, saltpetre!), then again I had the same issue with other mats in the past as well and now I do not…
