Those are about the most general topics I found so far, if anyone has anything else that I miss feel free to comment down below.
I already like the look of it. One problem though is that the capital spawn point is on top of some trees. I think this may have to be changed as I fell to my death. XD
I think it should also contain a social hub where people can meet, a trading district or market district where people can place their shops, maybe some living quarters with a mix of prebuild houses and spaces reserved for houses.
maybe a guild district where there can be reserved space for various guild halls?
dunno, its hard for me to tell, since it seems that the RPG elements that makes a city necessary are not planned for the game or just not shown yet.
I’d also be fan of a vault/bank/something where we can store blocks of all types & colors. Make it a real building; maybe a room/vault per block type
It was not how the city should be made but more a feature in the city.
That would just be a warehouse, no?
I agree with the idea of districts. Yet, I think that the district should not be randomly placed in the city. I think they should suit the environment such as the mining district beside a market district but also beside a district where more corrupt, violent guilds are located. this also means that the dangerous district and market is separated but at the same time close by. Also, this can be seen as logical as it could allow more official trading of supplies and black market trading.
how does one define ‘‘corrupt and violent guilds’’
how in the world can a district be ‘‘dangerous’’ its not like you can kill people like mc whenever you want (i think)
You do realize that it can only be counted as official and black market if there are
- taxes
- laws that forbid certain things to be sold
I do agree we need a big, cool and logical city, but i think it should also remembered that it is not real life.
ok, I see you point. I was looking more towards an RPG. XD
by the way, by violent and dangerous I mean killing others for their loot or other criminal activity. though, You are right. I was expecting an RPG which this is not. XD
I think he means dangerously themed, not actually dangerous. (maybe we could activate PvP in those districts, then it would indeed be dangerous )
Same for the black market, just a darker themed (maybe dirty) marketplace without any actual “black marketing”.
nah it supposedly is an RPG, though atm the RPG elements are just not there, i also understand where you are coming from because a fully immersive player run city would be epic, but i just dont think we will have the game mechanics nor the people to actually make something like that a reality.
ok, I understand now. Thank you
That is what I meant. Sorry, I did not explain that properly.
OK I’m making another list in about six hours, so if you have any other features get them down now. Then I think, Havok is going to decide which part we work on 1st/next.
Well if that is the case. if it is possible to do then i think its a great idea, as you also said for RP purposes, i just dont think alot of people are GOING to RP, but never the less. the more types of districts/areas that people can work on the better
I think a housing district would be amazing, if you’re visiting the world just for a specific resource, and you need to sleep somewhere, boom city hotel.
Personally i would rather see Taverns for that. but yeah.
this also depends if beds are important or not, if beds are important then it makes cities and houses so much more important.
We,seem to be going everywhere. Where do you think we should start.
That is definitely a great idea, but perhaps more in like an entertainment district where there could be bars and restaurants, and of course inns.
