I’ll leave you all to discuss. I have to get back to work and I can’t play Boundless now until tomorrow anyway even after splitting across machines.
Have fun.

That is a totally different argument. How much time something takes is not related to the skills needed or the machines needed.
I think it is related; removing crafting times would lead next requests like that
By that logic asking for anything that might reduce effort like more exotic yam seeds does the exact same things. So we should never ask for anything that reduces time or effort because it will turn the game into a creative mode game?
Because the game isn’t designed that way and does not have the philosophy that everyone gets everything instantly. Work and time are needed to craft stuff. This is needed because it is needed.
If people start saying we don’t need craft times then we should start saying we don’t need X or Y or Z. Just some things need to be there because you are creating a game and process behind the game.
It honestly isn’t worth getting into a discussion on it because it is hard to explain the views from each side and why certain things exist. We do not know all the details behind why the Developers need this but I know for a fact that they have reasons. We should at some level support those decisions because it does create game play.
The lead designer had his reasons and he should be the one saying what they were. But we should not be making the assumption that a “timegate” was the only reason. That is ridiculous to assume that and try to say it doesn’t provide any value to the game.
I don’t think it is a fair assessment that you should make ALL items be dropped 75% across the board. I do think the better evaluation to raise the concern that the times do need to be looked at. The developers are aware that crafting times are of concern to a variety of people across this game. So I think it is in our best interest to give them the best details around what times should be like so they can make a decision on how or if they change them. Blanket statements don’t really help in that matter because they don’t understand it from that perspective. Why? Because I have chatted with @james about stuff like this (just today in fact) and they need better data and explanations so they can understand.
As an example since we are considering adjusting time frames how about this example:
Once we understand that then we might be able to find a better time around it. I am surmising that in this case the multiple steps are more annoying than the single time.
I think a reduction in time is fine. A request for all crafting to be instant is probably not. If it were all instant, would xp be remove from crafting? If xp wasn’t removed leveling would only be restricted by the size of a players available inventory.
Edit: we all witnessed the uproar on rock xp, which is the easiest to obtain and most abundant block.
@Xaldafax Since you like to overcomplicate things, let me bring it back to being simple:
Problem statement
Craft times in Boundless are very long and the reasons behind why that is so are unclear to me.
Proposed solution
A developer should share the reasons why craft times are where they are currently are and, if the there are no compelling reasons to keep craft times as long as they are, provide a mechanism (at the devs discretion) to reduce craft times either across the board or in select problem areas.
It really is that simple. Let’s not get all philosophical.
Crafting times are a common part of a lot of large MMOs. Even some racing games require hours/days to make a new car. It takes days to make things in Warframe.
Not instant:
I would have to agree with you. I think instant actually has its own pitfalls. One if which is if you make a mistake you cannot change it. However I do think as is, there are too many times I might need something to continue a build so I start the machines, log off and play another game. I am not sure it is good for player retention when things take so long even when you have all the skills and machines that the best way to play is to start the machines, log off and come back in a day or two to continue.
That doesn’t make it right.
If You can’t play because you’re working… problem solved they’ll be ready when you’re back. if you can’t play because you need the shop stands to progress I think you’re playing the game wrong (joke just to clarify
) there’s plenty more to do!
It’s how these types of games are. More simple items craft quickly & higher end items take awhile. If you want something instantly, without crafting them, seek out a shop that sells those items. I do that with brick & marble - there’s no way I’m making that stuff lol.
Heck, there’s even wait times to craft stuff in phone games for 5 year olds, like Farmville. Do you know how long it takes to evolve a Pokemon?
hahahahaha
At least with warframe I can instantly finish crafting if I so choose to.
I would 100% pay real $$$$ for a craft time reduction or even to make specific crafts instant. Before anyone complains it’s p2w, stop it. It’s QoL.
I’m with you on that too. I’d be 100% happy to use my cubits on instant craft. Would save me the hassle of trying to figure out what to do while I’m waiting for what i need.
100%. Sign me up today, tomorrow and twice on Sunday.
Have y’all played Warframe yet lmao
There is so much waiting…
Here are some items that are needed. Btw you can only craft one of these at a time (unless you want to pay for 3 formas with premium currency)
Here is a basic noob frame. It is 12 hours per part. Then you need to get the bp, and finally craft the frame in which you then have to wait 3 days
Which again can be instant crafted if you’d like.
Warframe is a poor example for the fact you have a choice to use premium currency to instant craft.
And that currency is pretty easy to earn as well by selling frame and weapon parts on the market.
It costs a premium currency, which is not the easiest to obtain.
(Also the “rush” is always somewhat expensive)
