How often does a crop have a chance to progress to the next stage?
Correct me if Iām wrong, but I believe one ātickā is every one day in game.
So every 12am game time?
Time specifics I honestly do not know the exact answer to that. But yes, I would imagine it would tick each night around that time.
Cool so potentially I could grow multiple crops a day if I micromanaged them?
I would assume so, yes. If the crops base time for growth is short enough, you fertilize it, and the rng gods are on your side allowing growth each game day.
Should add that Iāve had Oortian rice that missed every tick and looked like I had just planted it, where all the others around it were completely ripe. Then, I fertilized it and about ten RL minutes later, the stinker was full grown. No idea how that worked, but itās happened more than once.
Thanks for the information
Anytime friend!!! Iāll continue to dig around the forums and double check to see if my answers were 100% correct.
Thanks Iāll read it
So how does the poisson curve work for goo? Is it best to harvest early, or best to use fertilizer on the stragglers?
Ah jeez, Iām not sure. But @wakeNbake or @Dupix might have a good answer for you. Iām just diving into the goo-sicles now actually.
I believe mayu did some maths on that and (from the top of my head) the most efficient time/pigment harvesting was at roughly double the initial average duration
Awesome thanks, I think that puts it at 4 days? I usually have 1 day and 21 hr when planting.
Earthyams and starberries have like 3 hour real life grow time, the other variants of these can also still be harvested more than once a day, longest is 9 hours I believeā¦
If youāre talking unfertilized goo on rock/raw gleam, then yes, i believe itās roughly 3-4 days
Iāve tried to find the post, as @Mayumichi definitely did the math on this. But i canāt find it anymore.
Even fertilizer is not a guarantee that an plant will progress. It just increases the chance. For the expense it just was not worth it to me.
Itās this one I suspect?
Right, just thinking of catching a few of the slow ones. Not spraying the whole goo farm that would be way to much fert. But maybe at expected time hit some slow plants or something. Iāll probably have to try it out
Thank you.
