Devs can you please think about the idea of gifting cubits. I know buying them are an option but I can’t afford that sorry but I know a lot of players with so many cubits they don’t use they have always said to me “ I wish I could give you some of my cubits” I have missed out on a couple good things this year again I know they are coming back but have to wait a whole year again for them please please think about this idea thank you
I would be fine if a person can BUY cubits for another account. I would certainly not be on board with a person being able to transfer cubits that were earned through XP to another person since that can be used as a cheat.
Not really and I wanted the cubits for the new items of gleambow and many would happy gift me cubits even though I work hard earning them I was a little short to buy the bubbles I don’t see what’s wrong with that if they happy to do so.
The problem is that this can be exploited VERY easily.
- Create a new character
- Power level them to get cubits per level up
- Send those cubits to your main character
- Delete new character
- Rinse and repeat
You can get your first 20 or so level really quickly and get more cubits per xp that way then pouring all of that xp into your level 50 character.
There could be a way NOT to do this and just for items only in the shop as that’s all I wanted them for nothing else.
I’m probably in the minority but I think they should put cubits into the free market system just like spark and let people sell them on shop stands. Yes abuse potential but they could just make it so you don’t get such a buff from leveling characters from 1 to 50. Or make it so you only get that buff 10 times per account.
Could also make it so there are to types of cubits like:
|Cubits Earned 200| |Cubits Brought 200
then you can coose to pay for plots while cooseing which one so use
and make only the brought onces tradeable and maybe put them in shop stands / make a consumable item players can use
Coming in here to disagree with being able to sell purchased cubits for coin.
Why? This is basically buying in-game coin for real-world money, just with extra steps.
You know what that is, right? Pay To Win.
This game already gets enough flak from people thinking it has loot boxes,
don’t add a mechanic that basically confirms that.
Can we trade all these unused skill points for Cubits lol
Just make it so you can only sell earned cubits not bought cubits (pretty sure that’s what dulki meant but typoed)
If he’s talking about selling earned ones, that goes back to my original argument.
You could ‘sell’ them to you main character from an unlimited amount of alts.
This whole thing is bad news.
I actually like this idea over any of the other ones mentioned here.
Once a character gets to level 150+,
they should stop getting skill points and start getting more cubits instead.
Being a Negative Nancy though, I doubt that would ever happen.
They wouldn’t want to deincentivize people buying cubits.
I mean, they have to make money somehow
I still think cosmetics is the best way. Overwatch model.
Not to mention other games do similar things with their subscriptions and that’s how MMOs stay afloat. RuneScape has it where people can basically pay real money for membership vouchers and people can sell those membership vouchers for in game gold.
If we made it so people could buy cubits and sell them in their shops it allows people who don’t have the time or money to get large amount of cubits an alternative way to get them. They can get it in game in a way that makes sense for them. It would allow the more casual player to get a larger amount of plots or cosmetic items without having to pay physical money for it, but at least SOMEONE did. It gives the devs money and allows the casuals to have more in game freedom.
I don’t think the plex/wow token style system is completely out of the cards for gleam club. But I do not see cubit trading become a thing anytime soon. The primary problem with trading cubits is that cubits are printable by people with time, a mining spec, a t5 speed hammer and speed brews. And for a small community, we have plenty of individuals who spent more than a quarter of their life last year playing this game. That would all need to change before cubit trading could even be considered. It would make the game even less casual friendly than it is now.
Subscriptions are very very different from in-game currency. If you have a game that operates on a pay-to-play type of subscription (runescape members, WoW, etc), as developers, you only benefit from this due to people who otherwise might not be able to afford to play, can now essentially play using other people’s money. (because in essence, somebody else buys their subscription)
Cubits is a whole different ballgame. Cubits are a premium currency used to buy in-game advantages (plots) and cosmetics. Allowing these to be traded opens up a black market for cubits. You’re opening the game up to bots farming levels just to sell cubits. You’re also losing money on people not paying for cubits anymore, but just getting them from bots or even just from friends etc. It’s a lose-lose situation for WS if they’d implement this.
The fact that you can earn a premium currency, at the rate that boundless lets us earn it, is pretty unique and imo a fantastic thing. But implementing a cubit trading system would be a VERY bad thing for WS.
Alright you got me I didnt consider bots literally farming cubits to sell. That would break the game for sure
Ok so this was just an idea about paying for cosmetic things like the bubbles I missed out on being off Poorly again. It’s not Going to happen anyways I wished they kept the items all year round in the shop but they don’t so was just a thought we don’t need to get rowdy lol
Thank god you can change your characters. Other wise this would be a more frequent topic. I see the point made and understand why. But like many “negative” points mentioned before on this topic.
Have to agree with those.
The way i see it, there is no valid reason why they should be transferable to other and not owned characters. As cubits are fairly easy to get.
All that is needed is to spend time playing.
On average it possible just by building to attain 1-2 lvls a day (for me) without teaching foods.
Yes some activities give les and some even more xp.
Trading cubits in anyway is for me a defined no.
Yup you can get cubits by playing constantly everyday which I did but didn’t get enough cubits to get the new items in the shop within the few weeks they were out as I had to stop due to illness again or I wouldn’t be mentioning it if I could buy them in the shop now but have to wait a whole year to try get said item and that’s not a guarantee I will have cubits then just saying.
I think your all missing the point but no matter
I don’t think bots farming xp would work in this scenario. The idea is e.g. that I could physically buy cubits with real world currency and sell it for in-game coin to players that can’t afford to buy cubits.
A bot farming xp wouldn’t achieve that, unless I’ve picked up the idea incorrectly.
