Trust me when I say that they should get some criticism but there’s also a difference between criticism and people just plain attacking them and being disrespectful. I think they should of kept their promises and at least release the content they promised or show some sort of progress of what they are doing even if it’s a little bit here and there but I also won’t go and straight out attack them which is what I have seen some people on the forums do (just saying in general). I would at least like some kind of acknowledgement from them, even if it’s every 4 to 6 months. It doesn’t have to be every month. Just a general update saying something like we haven’t had time to work on any content for the game but we are at least keeping up on the maintenance and keeping the servers running.
I find it rude and disrespectful when a company makes promises and then doesn’t follow through. And then instead of explaining it to the consumers, they go radio silence. That’s a great way to kill your reputation in the community.
Wonderstruck found that out when several of us posted our grievances on the Larian public forums, WS’s parent company.
That doesn’t give someone a reason to attack someone verbally though. It still goes to the fact if someone is an adult that they can still be the better person than the company and still give criticism without being disrespectful right back. But society in general nowadays thinks that just because someone did something disrespectful that it’s justified to be the same way. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
Have to agree with you on both accounts. Even if Wonderstuck & Monumental are 100% wrong there still is a good way to go about things without going off the rails.
“I remember back in my day” ![]()

Also my sentiment.
- 1st wrong - Wonderstruck going silent for 2 years
- 2nd wrong - Monumental and its unkept promises
I also totally agree here:
Thus why I deleted all my beacons and regenned it all.
9 out of 15 “news” section topics from 2025 till this day is “maintenance today” .
Doesn’t need to be a smart to figure is this game gonna make some progress in the future
Genuinely curious how much Monumental paid for the game and if they would entertain the community purchasing it from them. I’m fairly confident we could organize a team from the community to take the game forward.
I’ll buy that for a Dollar!
Perhaps make some skins you can only buy in the shop, I’m pretty sure the info on how to make them was in an old post for community made skins, Make one of Gold and cost $100 rest for $10…
Perhaps they should release the sword and shields update. What I understood was that those new items were ready but it was postponed cause they wanted to add more to it.
I can’t see why they couldn’t release it even 50% of that would be better than nothing.. I hardly doubt those items etc are linked to the whole update. Just give us swords and shields . At least something to work.
Who cares about new skins.
With what funds? Video game development isn’t cheap, if you want to do it properly.
The sword and shields update was intertwined with private server’s update. As far as I know, there’s no way to separate them without having a developer work to separate it.
If Monumental doesn’t have any plans right now, then WE, the players, need to come up with one.
Step one: Promote Boundless,
Regular streaming (there are some really great content creators in the community—I know it
).
Short videos on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok.
If all the players still here could just stream a little (even without a camera or mic), that would already help get the algorithms a little excited.
Games like Hytale and Vintage Story on Twitch don’t exceed 500 views at their peak and 100 at their lowest.
The current trend is roleplay—maybe a path worth exploring.
Step number two: Players
Try, like @Redlotus , to bring back hold players—e.g., Portal Seekers, TNT, and many others we all miss—even if it’s just for a short time. The important thing right now is to boost the stats.
We current players need to make an effort—by that I mean not scaring off new players. Some haven’t even had time to finish the tutorial; they were told to go elsewhere , everyone here knows that famous tutorial is really bad ![]()
I sincerely believe that for now, we players should take matters into our own hands.
P.S.: As you may know, I’m using a translator to help me a bit, i apologize in advance if some things are misunderstood or misinterpreted ![]()
I’m not sure that I can feel good about doing this in the state it’s currently in. This game is hella fun and full of potential - one of my personal favorites - but after about a year of playing, any newish player is going to start noticing the signs of an abandoned game. Updates of any kind would help with that. Community members have taken on roles like forum mods and event-world-builders, etc. but without any visible plans for the future the urge to invest the time it takes for this game to prosper just won’t happen for most. I haven’t played in a long time but I check this forum every day for anything new.
Even just a ‘hey what’s up, I see you’ would be hopeful, but I think most helpful would be to expand the modding capabilities for the community. If that happens, this game will take off imo.
There are two kind of people. Those who can explain why something doesn’t work, and those that do it.
There are some truly impressive FOSS projects and it’s not like we would get less development with open sourcing it.
There are probably like 2 or 3 people in the world that could promote a game where the latest update was in Sep 2020. And the latest news (on Steam) are from Feb 2024, the announcement that the lovestruck even runs again…
I had a streamer ask what MMO’s we were playing. I mentioned my last MMO being Boundless and they had NO idea that was a game. After having a conversation, they didn’t see how they could play a game that had no future. No updates, No News, No developments, no pathway moving forward, and active player based signaled very little interest. Needless to say, they didn’t want to buy a game that was appearing to be on its way out the door. ![]()
There is only so much the community can do though.
It also had the skill page and Goo Update in the same update. They wanted to release it as a whole. Only wanted the skill page and Goo update myself.
I can’t morally recommend Boundless to anyone currently. I’d love to, but when Monumental won’t promote it, update it or even communicate, I just can’t recommend it to anyone.
I’ve asked for someone in the community to have social media access to the Boundless accounts to at least have someone update them, but that didn’t work out.
That’s just a handful of them.
I still poke around hoping there will be some interesting news. Sadly… ![]()
