Yeah i think they didn’t released it because the offline mode was not ready yet and it was part of it. I was waiting for that update, especially for the only one skill page. Would have been a huge QoL for me.
Same. My beacons are being refueled manually, but the motivation to keep it up is definitely dwindling after so many years of nothing…
Which trailer made it look like PvP?
Sorry all, I deleted my posts. I want to be accurate about what I wrote. I am fairly sure what I wrote is fact, but not 100% sure. I don’t want to misrepresent any members, former members, former owners, etc
there was talk about PvP arenas or worlds - a location limited thing; nothing concrete - mostly suggestions iirc
prestige competition and fight for capital title was sometimes described/treated by some as PvP element - a stretch if you ask me
I heard that one player got banned because they threatened to take over as the capital. Which is honestly a silly reason…
My young friend from Belarus printed out ads in which he invites people to this wonderful game. He posted them all over the city.

I love this game because i don’t feel competitive. I don’t need to compete with anyone. The maximum is who has the most beautiful buildings, who has the best store. I adore this game, and sincerely love our community, i have never met kinder and more responsive people anywhere.
I used to fight with someone, but now i miss all the people i used to fight with.
It’s the most wonderful soundtrack.. These almost 9 years have left their mark on my life forever.
right there with you. I Love the game and sometimes shed a few tears for all the people I miss…
I still love the game but good god they seriously need to do something now like drop a massive update because the player base is slowly dying off. Promise were made for updates and we haven’t see diddly squat it’s almost 6 years since the company took over and still nothing and for the people in denial saying it takes time they’ve had plenty of time to do something. This beyond frustrating to not hearing a word of anything on any updates if people stop paying for gleam Club with worlds that would hurt their wallets
Yes, but then they will just shut the game off.
They obviously have no plans for the game. I think the only thing keeping it he lights on is that it doesn’t hurt their pocket book too much to do so.
I agree and share your frustration though.
The end has to be near. Hope I am wrong
It may feel like 6 but it was 2022. Not that it matters because as you say the player base is dwindling. Due to no movement except for keeping the lights on.
I pretty much quit playing because I got bored with the same stuff and when I did come across people they were always rude or negative about the game. Technically without any new updates it’s a playable game that still has a bunch of stuff that can be done on it. I keep my beacon going because there’s time I just want to relax and the building and mining part is relaxing. But I am like most gamers, I eventually get bored with a game and move on to a different game. Every gamer does that eventually. After playing any game so many hours someone eventually goes and plays something else. The player base isn’t dying out from no new content it’s dying out from mainly people have played the game for so many hours that they got bored with the game. People just use the excuse that there’s no new content just to make themselves look better and to try and place blame on someone else. I see this happen in just about every online game I play. The other two major things is the game didn’t get enough attention for advertising and it’s competing against major games like Minecraft that can do everything that you can in boundless with mods.
Wonder why they got bored?
You can’t blame it on there not being any new content. I’ll use fallout 76 for example. No new type of events, same seasonal events, same normal events and they still have plenty of people that consistently play. The difference is fallout 76 advertising themselves through tv shows and stuff like that. The game is dying mostly from no advertising being done. Advertising is the thing that gets any product whether it’s a game, tv show, type of computer, type of tv, type of car etc. without proper advertising the product doesn’t do well for being bought
Fallout is a series of games that has been around for years. Not a prime example. That has had updates the Backwoods was released in March this year. So yes it has had updates. I also play it.
Let me put it like this
Advertising brings players
Players bring revenue
Revenue brings money in for development and maintenance.
Fallout 76 is multiplayer and the rest of fallout games aren’t but it still comes down to them advertising their games where this game had almost no advertising. If they where to make an advertisement trailer that played for commercials on Facebook, twitch and YouTube that would bring in more players but I have never seen any ads on any of those 3 platforms for a commercial trailer
The Difference is they are active with the community; they do keep working on patches and updates. It doesn’t matter if it was a single player game or an MMORPG. Boundless is a singularity game not a name that people have known in the gaming community for years. Advertising could help but unless they actively communicate with the player base and work on the game in ANY capacity the player base will dwindle like it has. Do you know what it would cost them to advertise alone. There is not enough player base left to fund that. Due to almost 6 years of nothing from the two owners. They are not going to throw money out there after that much time with just a wisp of a chance of breaking even on the cost of doing so. At this point it is a self-inflicted mortal wound.
Remember how excited we were back then?
