Only action rpg game i ever saw DW shield in are the Dark souls’s games.
then for mobas there is a dude called Cabrakan in smite
and then there was 1 in the now shut down moba called ‘‘Chaos heroes online’’
so its something you can use in premade character games, where you have a limited set of abilities, but in an rpg or anything where you can make your own char, it is rarely used, cause why would it.
hopefully we will get some unique and cool weapons in this game, i for one would love a pair of chakrams 
or a ring blade
but that is something else entirely
