Extra blocks for diagonal building

still exploring latticing…this looks pretty amazing…my mind would be boggled.
love the way lattice chisels are very versatile but love the simplicity of operation. would love to see this expanded to ideas such as above or even with current shapes (ie. shapes would cycle through sizes).

In principle, they are six - new- basic blocks that are always rotated 90 degrees, resulting in a substantial expansion on diagonal construction.

I see it as an extension on the basic palette as we know it today
(see picture below)

I think it’s a good idea to place them behind a new chisel :+1::+1:

That looks like a disco ball!

Rift = Rounding

I think a precise rounding chisel could work well. Each whack takes off a corner like a precise bevel does.

Maybe not 8 corners to make a sphere. But put eight blocks together and whack 7 corners off each to form a sphere (sort of like bevel chisel gleam “gems” at Ult Finata and other places)

I would propose a special case that you stack lucent and gem chisels together though. I already have too many chisel stacks.

Love this.

You can also just say +forge instead of square (both types) when you forge it it turns to round.
Or name change from square to circle.

How ever i am more than happy if we get the diagonal added. (I feel the possibility’s already)

@james if we are talking chisels…how about a chisel to rotate blocks like you can with storage blocks and other placeables. Like when you have metamorphic refined stone you need to put them in the same direction otherwise it gets all ugly unless you go for the random look. Or twisted trunks if you don’t place them exactly the lines of the bark don’t line up. Now that would help a million.

Well I was thinking about that yesterday and I came to the conclusion that the not precise gem chisels (so ruby, amethyst and emerald) could be used to do some new types of chiseling cause let’s be real we don’t absolutely need the not precise gem chisels since we have the epic skill that is needed anyway to use the more precise fonctions of the precise chisels.

I use the non precise ones as to not waste dura on the precise ones. Why would I want to use a precise square chisel on a lucent floor or remove a skill of my builder spec. I know @Ratchel uses both kinds of gem chisels as well. We can’t be the only ones.

Same here; you’re not.

I’m not saying I’m not using them. But if it meant the possibility to get more shapes? I’d be willing to make that sacrifice. Or use a skill page without the chiseling epic.

Oortstone chisels? Yes, please. :+1:

Personally before adding yet more new chisel types, Fixing existing types should be looked at as well. Would love to build some proper rooves, but because the way inner slope corners are shaped, that’s not quite possible to do cleanly.

@james Could you have a recipe that you combine a base chisel with a ‘gem/ingot’ (for example), the item itself would have a ‘gem/ingot’ on the model so it’s obvious which it is, and that chisel is the square/slope/bevel/lattice/‘other’.

Then the same with another metal type for the precise. This could also save having to use a forge for the lattice.

Incoming high-tech art-work rendition!

Btw hi all, it’s been a while!

Hi! waves

Basically chisel augments!

We could change the whole chisel lineup with this. Precise versions are the same as the non-precise they just need a precise chisel augment! A lattice chisel augment, an unchisel chisel augment, etc.

But since we then have more unused chisels suddenly too we can repurpose them to be lattice chisels etc.
