Game not launching

Heyo!
Just picked up Boundless, installed it yadda yadda. When I try to launch the game, I get the “preparing to launch Boundless” Steam message, then nothing happens. I’ve reinstalled, rebooted, made sure my drivers are up to date, everything to no avail.

I’d try the testing branch, but I can’t find instructions on how to access it anywhere. I did find one post, but the code provided to access the branch was invalid.

So here I sit, twiddlin’ my thumbs~

I’d post a log file, but I don’t actually have one.

EDIT: PC info:
Windows 10 64bit
GTX 970
32GB RAM

This sounds like a failed installation as the game isn’t even starting.

Try another reinstall at a minimum.

Second reinstall just done, same problems are present.
Added PC specs to the OP.

Any chance you got the latest nVidia drivers?

Drivers are up to date according to GeForce Experience

If the game isn’t even starting then it’s an install issue.

What version of Steam are you running?

Hmm…

Has Windows asked you for admin privileges to update drivers when you try running Boundless?

Also do you have any anti-virus programs blocking the game from starting?

Whatever the current version of Steam is, I guess? I can’t find anywhere with a version number, but I checked for updates and I’m apparently up to date.

Windows hasn’t asked for admin privs, no.

That was a good point w/ the antivirus, so I allowed Boundless through it and that didn’t work. Turned off the AV and tried, still no go.

Are you running Boundless from within Steam?

What happens when run directly from Explorer?

With both BoundlessLoader.exe and Boundless.exe I can see Task Manager showing the process for about one second and then it vanishes, program doesn’t start.

Can you try running the program as admin?

Right-click on the Boundless launcher in the explorer
Select Run as Administrator

Think you might be missing one of our dependencies, maybe the VS2015 runtime?

(But Steam should have installed them all.)

I try to install that but it seems I have a newer version already.

What if you run from the command line?

We need some sort of msg or error to understand the problem.

Has your Windows been updated to the latest version? One person had a problem running the game last week. He installed all the updates and he was able to run the game.

My Win10 is up to date as well, command line doesn’t work.
I’m reinstalling one more time.

Post-reinstall same issues are present and no log files being made.

Hmm…

Really wonder what is causing this problem. Did you try restating your machine? I wonder if steam is having issues with the launcher.
