Does this tactic also affect the RNG nature of the materials the gleambows are made of, is there any way of improving the chance of getting one actually made of gleam rather than mud and mould etc?
I will admit saying gleambow was turning me off of boundless was maybe not the best title, considering I posted it the first day it was out and although the rendering for me is still bad the adjustment in timers length makes a huge differences.
I’ve actually really started to enjoy the event and have also taken this opportunity to map out some worlds. Getting to see so gorgeous scenery and some amazing builds this community has put together.
@james Just want to say thanks to you and the team for addressing some problems this quickly. I’ve said it before and il say it again we are lucky to have a dev team that cares about it’s community.
Can it go back to a 1min 20 sec lol
ye this is too much heh
just got 3 of them in under 40sec (got lucky, stole some ppls meteors but still heh)
I like the longer timers, please keep lol
Edit: Yes we may now feel overprepared, but it’s better and more fun for everyone as a whole
But now I feel like I over prepared with speed brews and grapples lol
yep, i feel you xD
Ah, ok. I was starting to think something was off lol. On one planet it was like a minute…on some…more than 3 minutes, but different when I went back. I was asking myself “are the timers different on different planets or am I seeing things?” (It could be that I just hadn’t tried hunting on those planets yet)
I’m finding that when the timers are around 1:15 seconds or less, it’s too tense and all ![]()

. When they are around 2 minutes or more, it’s a whole different game & a lot of ![]()

fun (imo).
After an hour on glovi, I didn’t get a single gleambow with under 3 min timer.
Maybe 8 in a row
Was on Bese but still same
Honestly this upsets me more it broke normal meteor hunting…maybe it didnt and im just seeing the results of more people out and about… which means i dont like the spawn rates on meteors and they need to be turned up…
I didn’t really like meteor hunting before, but i would go so i could spend time with my guild mates and get oort stone, this makes me hate meteor hunting. I wasted about 4 hours last night and the night before looking for normal ones and at one point too many gleambow ones were spawning.
Now nothing is spawning.
Ill just go back to mining until the event is over so i can buy my oort stone.
You get tons of oort from the Gleambow meteors too. I got over 300 oort yesterday when I did a quick gleambow run. Regular meteors fall right along with them too.
Just my feedback having done this for the last day. I spent most of my hunting on busy planets, Biitula,Circapous, and some other T3 planets. I didn’t use any speed brews.
I was able to get to the majority of the meteors with little competition. I even beat out a couple of 3-man hunting teams with little ol me. Hi TNT guys
I’m not sure why people feel the timer was too short. There were several instances where it took me several minutes to traverse rough terrain before I could arrive and the meteor was still active. And it didn’t take much effort to “beat it”
I enjoyed the hunting. My only gripes is that I felt the event is a slight misleading because I thought every meteor was gleam filled. Instead, it seems that maybe 1 out of every 4 was gleam-filled and the rest was trash. I didn’t care for trunks or mold. So kinda disappointing in that part but not mad. And I don’t know why, but when I visited empty planets like Cardass and Till, expecting to get have a better chance, I only saw 1 meteor in my visit across both planets. I spent a good 30 minutes each, trekking multiple regions but nothing. I wonder if the algorithm fills has meteors visiting busy planets and less often on emptier planets?
And this was the first time I experienced an insane amount of fog across Biitula and Cardass. Did the devs just introduce this weather effect because I’ve never seen this in the last month that I’ve been active again.
Between competing against the timer, teams, and beating off those cuttletrunks that kept picking me up, I feel this event gives some spontaneity and slight tension to a game that has become predictable for a vet like me. I don’t see myself doing this everyday, especially with the randomness of gleam meteors, but I wouldn’t say I’m turned off either. Thanks.
Pretty much the same experience for me except 8 out of 8 all trash, not one made of gleam!! It’s been pretty pointless for me so far.
Aye, I feel the pain. RNGJesus made his apperance!
I guess the event is geared more towards the fulltime hardcore players who have plenty of time to ride the ratios. I’m just a regular player (aka a “casual” player) so a bad run of RNG is going to be far more noticeable to someone like me I suppose.
remembered on a hunt a T5 meteor (not T5 world) landed right next to me and hunt crew expected it to land farther. was gleam/mud meteor.
I just don’t take part in it. Not everything in this game should be appealing to all.
I just enjoy seeing people having fun with it.
Yes I am a ps4 player
Next year’s gleambow event, clearly, if nothing changes, imma stay home.
I just spent the day trying to have fun with this event, and what I got out of it versus how much energy I spent trying to get stuff, that was SO disappointing, I got depressed.
I spent like 2 hours hunting gleambow meteors. Got 1 block of pale lilac gleam.
It’s mostly because I was competing with players from big guilds with all the cool blink/rift/umbris grappels and guild grappel buffs, who could reach so much farther than me, and if you’re second at a meteor, you barely get scraps.
It would be nice if there was a good gleam reward for everybody who gets there in the next 10 minutes after the Gleambow meteor lands, and the first one to get there gets the most… but if you’re the 10th player to get there, you still get something nice.
I dunno, just spitballing there…
