Np! Happy to help
OK, you lovely lot talked me around.
Iāll rock up, but I canāt ensure in what condition. Itās really hard to get the ā ā ā ā you need AND have cash for the ā ā ā ā you need to hunt.
Perhaps itās best I respec my current lvl 37 character for hunting, then use my alt as the crafter/builder ⦠I donāt think a lvl 20 will be enough, will it.
I used a hybrid miner/hunter sheet for a long time. Just power, speed, energy, and damage epic was all I really used for hunts, and all of that is needed for mining anyway. When I got enough points, I dropped some in the damage protection skills, but thatās not critical. Health does help a lot if you can afford it, though.
Served me pretty well until I had the points to split it off to itās own sheet, and that was mostly so I had the capacity in my mining sheet to do more mining.
What are the real requirements in stats and gear for T6 hunts? Just so nobody shows up and ends up mad / disappointed that they donāt meet them. How many points in protections, etc? What gear is really needed for a T6 (not just random forged), etc? I know my level 36 hunter is nowhere near ready for these kind of hunts.
I think a level 36 would be fine for a group hunt. There will be enough people there to kill stuff. Just spec for atmosphere, all the armors, armor epic, and maybe a revive epic and run healer : )
Cheers.
I donāt have much good stuff, tbh, but Iāll do my best to be ready.
Iāll do a build calculation online soon⦠![]()
Personally I find that on T6 hunts, if something hits you, itāll hurt whether or not you have armor. The resistance chance just gives you a chance to avoid damage, the armor doesnāt remove a high fraction of the damage since the damage is large and the armor is a constant amount.
Iāll describe a few things that I think are important depending on your priorities, pick whatever you can afford:
8/8 Agility so you can run fast and keep up. This imo is one of the more important ones in group hunts, since other people will kill things and you donāt do any harm by dyingā¦we love getting experience from your corpse.
Grapple mastery so you can grapple conveniently (and do extra gold fist damage if youād like to. Gold fists ignore armor so theyāre not bad, just avoid hitting the elemental critters)
8/8 Power and Damage Epic if you want to do damage
Health and health epic will let you tank a few more hits between deaths
Revive Cooldown Epic highly optional since a cleansing bomb does the same thing
Revive Power Epic optional but very luxurious when you run around giving people level 2 revive: they return with 100% health and energy.
8/8 intelligence and healing epic if you want to be a bomb healer. Other bomb skills donāt matter nearly as much.
Jump Epics highly optional, again if you find yourself needing a little more convenience running around T6 worlds.
The absolute necessary is 12 points for atmosphere and whatever you need to feel comfortable moving around. Try exploring a few regions on a T6 world. Even if you donāt kill anything or heal anyone your presence helps the hunt and your dead corpse offers exp and progress towards achievements.
If you need some slingbows come see me and Iāll see what I have or just forge something new for you. I know there are some really nice slingbows being given away for the event as well(insider info
)
Thatās so kind of you!
Hopefully itās obvious, but Iām the same name in game. Iām UK based, so Iāll try to be around during the day. THANK YOU!
If I sort it out in the meantime, though ⦠Iāll let you know⦠
Constantly being dead isnāt fun. And the GTG folks arenāt putting the 12 points in protections, etc. out there front and center where they need to be. I see people in chat talking about this who I know are pretty new and donāt understand how this is going to go. Just saying better info needs to be out there on a consistent basis so as not to turn folks off when they find out this isnāt the same as a T3 hunt. My two experiences on T6 hunts totally turned me off of them and almost turned me off the whole game. Luckily the Brown Town T3 hunts are much more fun and donāt require spending points in protections before anything else.
Thereās going to be people reviving and also reviver brews(aka rez yourself). So dying shouldnāt really be an issue. Itās a matter of being patient and waiting for the rez
Also remember reviver brews donāt negate any other brew. They stack with all brews.

Aye, that absolutely makes sense to me. I do think thereās potentially either some work that could be done for new players in this game.
But with regards to this hunt, hopefully I can respec to a hunter and be vaguely OK.
Iām super patient ⦠Hell, I can barely keep up most of the time ⦠So Iām fine even with missing the odd 'rite! ⦠![]()
Alwin did a great job explaining a good snap shot on where points should be. The 12 points he is referring too is the 3 Exploration traits.
Volatile Protection needs to be at 4 points.
Potent Protection needs to be at 4 points.
Caustic Protection needs to be at 4 points.
If you have a maxed skill page its great to have these points in all the time when hunting T6 planets, if you donāt have the points to have all of them then just use them in the category that is required for that specific planet. That info comes from our hunt pings (which we will be doing for each planet as we hop to)
When I am working for a helpdesk Iāve basically got timeanddate up permanently ⦠such a good site.
