Its been a few years since i left…Posting this to see how the community is doing?
Update: Was exploring and memories popping up in my head when i met two wonderful peeps of the community! EnisledLady and Yates! now have joined their guild and have a place to call home :3 I am happy.
welcome back ![]()
The community is still here, but it’s tiny. No thanks to Monumental not even trying to retain or attract new players, it’s so annoying.
Glad to see you return regardless.
Welcome back!
I kinda moved on. Waiting for the next big game. Playing Pal World, waiting for Light no Fire atm. Haven’t reinstalled or played boundless much as I am avoiding that Oort Elf.
Oort on a shelf is a scary mythical being to think about to this day.
Hello
welcome back to boundless ![]()
Welcome back! My boyfriend and I just came back after a few years away. Things are a lot more dead now but we are building in Sorssi.
welcome back as well - both you and the boyfriend ![]()
Welcome Back yeah the active players are bit smaller but we are still here enjoying the game.
The game more dead then ever we still haven’t heard a single word from devs we are being left in dark
IT about what it has been as you can basically double it to as the PS players since this is only PC.
Sure.

I’m legitimately curious what would happen if they finally dropped the update that never got released. Even if they stripped out the private planets, how many people would come back to play? The code is already written and mostly tested. Stripping out the private planets would take a day or two of dev work, max. Add a couple of days for testing, maybe. Then a couple days for any bug fixes that might crop up. You are talking 2 weeks tops of a single developers time. It would give a decent gauge of what interest is still left in the game. Show Monumental still has some interest in Boundless. I really wonder what impact that small action might have.
I’m also interested in what the price point Monumental has for selling Boundless. Would $20k cash do it? Y’all say you are losing money on it, so it shouldn’t be a high price point. I would be happy to take it off your hands for you.
Player counts are abysmal. I saw it dip down to 2 people online the other day including PlayStation.
Not many I’d imagine and if they did it would be for a pretty short time I imagine. As I said before 95% of the game would still be the same grind. The main focus should be new players, not bringing back the old players. The game never had that many playing the game and getting new players means more time invested in the game and more money spent.
They should make the game free to play honestly. But if they don’t dropping it to around $10 might be better. They really could just fix the new player experience and then advertise too which would probably be a better investment.
In my opinion, the same thing that has happened after other updates: The player count would spike and after 90 days most of them would be gone. After 120 days, all would be gone.
And when I say spike, I mean to a “massive” 400 players ![]()
It’s over imo
The update may or may not have been transferred to them. It was on the testing server which is most likely gone. While it would have been nice if they had implemented it before they sold it off.
I assume that Wonderstruck was using some form of source control to manage the code, and that code would have been passed off to Monumental when they bought the game. Its possible that is not the case, but I have never worked anywhere that didn’t use source control. Git, SVN, Perforce, whatever. The build can be recompiled from the code.
I agree new players should be the main focus, but most people are not much interested in playing an MMO that has not had an update since September 18, 2020. That is very nearly 6 YEARS with no updates at all. I was thinking dropping an update that was already written would be a quick win. Not much effort needed. Make it look like Monumental has some interest in the game. I do agree the game should go free to play, and that the new player experience should be the main focus. But what do you mean by that? I know most people think a tutorial will fix most of the issues, and I do not agree with that. I think the current new player experience is basically akin to torture. The game is currently completely overtuned and needs to make itself fun from the get go. It is not fun at the get go at the moment. It is slow, painful, and frustrating. There is a giant gap in the middle of the new player experience where gold and silver should be for tools, and fixing that would require adding those metals to the T3 and T4 worlds in similar quantities to iron and copper on T1 and T2 worlds. The first half of the skills should just be nuked, and really the whole skill system needs a complete rework. Some of the update was actually geared at creating a better onboarding system, so that stuff should come in.
