Please help long time since I’ve played a PC game. Just started this game about 8-10 hrs ago. How do I interact or speak to other players? How do I place boxes under my feet so that I can get out of caves? How do I swim? Is there a better world map available yet? How do you switch what you are carrying in your hand without opening up the main menu? Yes I know that this game is still in the test phase, but I’m having fun minus the constant falling in caves.
Any and all help is welcome, I’m on Solom looking for flat ground to build a little house in. I’m good at mining because it was the only way for me to get out of the caves. What is tallow ( or better yet how do I make torches)? How do I know what version I’m in also?

I kept jumping and trying to place a block under me and it didn’t work. I will get a wireless mouse for my laptop, maybe that is why it wouldn’t work.
Yes I find the game almost unplayable with the built-in laptop mouse pad.
