as I have been trying to mine myself out of a death penalty, I found more veins of silver than coal. That has never happened before to me.
looks all like effects of applying 8 tier world structure to our current limited universe - you are probably on a planet that would be called a metal world?
just guessing based on info given by devs somewhere else
I’m going to live on a coal world!
If you were answering or addressing me, I was on Solum. We will need it reasonably easy to find coal on a starter world or it will be an issue for new people and when we restart.
Yeah, I guess, but starter worlds are lower tier than what we know as home worlds here. The current home worlds feel more like lush/metal/coal 2nd tier worlds. At least it looks like they were translated like that if it comes to resources distribution.
I guess this is another item for them to look at. . at least enough people are still playing that they are getting feedback on resource distribution versus people just draining their storage.
I deleted all my characters and started a new one. There is coal all over around my starter spot.
my thoughts concerning tiers (especially with coal/metal/tech etc) =
- SOFT COAL should be nicely available on starter worlds (and also higher world… just more limited the higher you go) Other tiers of coal should be related to the planetary tiers)
- COPPER should be in good (not MASSIVE) suply on starter worlds/then secondary/then tapeiring off from trietary onwards?)
- IRON should be avaible on starter worlds (but more limited -but not rare than copper) and should aslo increase with higher teirs
- Silver/Gold/Titanium should be available from XXX tiers only
- TECH (ancient tech should be available from starter worlds - the other stuff (those Ribbons tech things - should be from teir 2 - the Micro chips - Purple - available from tier 4) and so on
But they should also be allocated their own planet:
- Soft Coal = Therka/Solum/Berlyn - Medium = XYZ etc
- Copper (and limited Iron) = T/S/B
- Silver = as an example Munteen only - Gold = Nashiril only - Titanium = Vulpto only and etc
The same with the other resources
WHAT PLANET!!! (QQ)
and to keep on topic… Fiborous Leaves (because they are very much needed from level 1) should be in bountiful supply everywhere (but still luck based)
I always go for the lowest population… so whatever the Australian server planet is. Went in a desert area and found myself basically in a rock quarry with copper, coal ancient tech, etc. staring at me from everywhere. One of my former characters I deleted was elsewhere on the planet. I learned on that one that if I went to a desert area there was a lot of anything for a starter planet you could want mining and go to a forested area and fibrous leaves were everywhere. So, I just go to the area of what I want. It was kind of strange what was called “Desert Sword” was difficult to find in the desert and had tons of in the forest and grass. lol
Considering Vena is Practically dead, would you like to team up before the reset happens? send me a PM here with you char name if you do
I will stress it once again - current starter worlds don’t behave like 1.0 starter worlds will. They have been translated into 2 tier worlds as much as I can tell from what I know (I dont know all that much so I may be wrong).
I have seen sample of the future universe and played tutorial on it (to around 10+ lvl). There is nothing to be worried about (coal and all) on them home worlds. And leaving starter world seemed to be achievable within a few days of playing (building compactor and crafting warp augments). And when you make that step you are on coal/metal worlds that offer plenty resources to move forward.
It looks to me, that starter planets in the new universe will be more of a tutorial worlds that get you ready for the real world out there. I tend to think that there will be no large cities and such on home worlds, and people will settle for at least tier 2-3 worlds if it comes to bigger projects, as those worlds offer more interesting topography and resources while still being safe enough (no toxic atmosphere and no top tier creatures etc.).
If the starter worlds for 1.0 are more or less like the one I played in the previously released big hunt server, it means pretty flat terrain, no aggressive creatures, limited cave system - basically no typical pitfalls for any new characters (be it creatures or challenging terrain).
I think this is what going to happen, and also if you know what you are doing you can get off the current starter worlds under 3 hours, so it is pretty fast and can access to better loots.
its probably actually sensible - since starter worlds will have a lot of players coming in and starting tutorials - if the home worlds are unattractive enough for advancing players, then it leaves space for all the newcomers playing tutorial; otherwise there would be not enough space for all the first time fire camps and beacons and first machine sets
it will most likely make home worlds littered with all the unfinished tutorial stuff, etc. - so the more reason to live somewhere else when you are an established player
I’m going to delete character again pretty soon and start anew on the more difficult world. I just want to find out how difficult it actually is. Right now the easier of the two starter world choices is pretty simple since the creatures never attack until after you start attacking them and resources are everywhere it seems. The only difficulty I have encountered is in some of the objectives like collecting “soil” it seems to actually only count peat soil and no other types and a couple where you are supposed to collect a specific item (such as flint) you collect a few and in my case even used them crafting) and it still says I have collected zero, or, like in earthy yams or whatever it’s called it didn’t count all of them so at one point I discovered I had two in inventory I hadn’t noticed collecting yet it said I had zero. Just a few problems like that (plus the idea I had to keep trying keys to find a way to access the exchange since it didn’t say in the tutorial to press TAB to get there). The planet itself isn’t a problem. I like the new colors much better!
you speaking my language now
I’ve noticed the plants are hard to find too, hopefully they fix it. In the meantime, I’ve been taking advantage of tool mastery buffing all tools now. You can get fibrous leaves from foliage surprisingly fast with a few points of axe mastery and a stack of copper axes
