Id actually love GC-exclusive blocks, as long as they were zero prestige. I dont want to anger anyone, or create too much of a divide between paying or non-paying players, but to me it has nothing to do with P2W and id welcome a slightly larger incentive to buy GC.
Add in no experience gained by placing, chiseling or breaking these blocks and I think I’d be a supporter of this sort of thing also. Also, some how make them untradeable… or else players could simply buy sweet looking blocks and sell for profit.
Colored signs is a privilege via Gleam Club…a bonus for those who contribute to the development team by buying Gleam Club. We are very blessed being able to play this game as most of us love Boundless! Non-colored signs are just as functional, just not as pretty
The GC isn’t a play to win. P2W is when something exists to give you a higher advantage over others such dealing with a system that is player vs player in mmo’s. Since this isn’t a pvp it’s not giving you an advantage over others. Plus if the devs didn’t have a way of getting people to buy the GC it would cause a loss of revenue that they use to help keep improving the game and supporting themselves in lives. I imagine the GC is a big profit for their company. There has to be a way for them to make money and if you remove things from the GC it makes it less appealing to buy which lowers the revenue that they make from it that helps with the development of the game.
DK is a PS4 player if i remember correctly, though he could screen shot it on his console and share it via psn.
This isn’t really a debate.
DK is just sayin’ that he would buy MORE Gleam Club if certain things were so. It’s just a player stating a personal fact.
@DKPuncherello thx for sharing your opinion and observation. Always welcome
I won’t share my opinion on your opinion… cuz it doesnt matter. opinions on opinions start to get into “let’s turn this opinion into a debate” territory. And this is not a debate =P. But thats just my opinion (lol)
HOWEVER. If you would like my opinion on the sign colors, i view that as cosmetic, and am totally fine with it being behind a paywall. There are certain players who want their signs to be “flashier” than their neighbors and are willing to pay for it. If they were to give to everyone, i think they would ultimately lose GC memberships. Even tho they would gain more from you individually.
I’m sorry, but I disagree. If only one person is allowed to express an opinion, the forum doesn’t need to exist.
Opinions are always welcome, from everyone. Those opinions, when expressed, are then open to counter opinions because we’re not all the same and don’t all like the same things in equal quantity. Debating is always useful, even when opinions differ.
Sure. I get what you are saying, Opinions are always welcome (as i stated)…
And your opinion on GC is welcome, as is everyone’s. i was just getting at the point that this particular thread was started with a statement of fact. “DK would buy more if this was the case”. Which is not up for debate, and seems like people are debating that…
Either way, just wanted to chime in as recently returning to this forum, I remember now the underlying “defensiveness” and “attacking” that made the forum a bad place to hang out.
Some posts looked like they were attacking. Some posts then got defensive… just feel it is unnecessary.
But if anyone feels like a back and forth is a good use of your time, then go right ahead! Just know, that at the end of this thread, the fact won’t change that DK “would be more willing to buy gleam club if everyone had the ability to do colored sign text.”
You guys do know that colored text isn’t completely exclusive. You can color text like zone and beacon names without GC atleast my friend did name his beacons in color without having GC.
Yes GC can color signs and chat text but its not completely exclusive to GC.
Have it mainly for fueling and will probably buy more to not have to think about fueling.
Also I change my main character now and again to fit in the season or so.
I do understand what you mean and agree that the initial post was a statement of fact.
However, it’s more beneficial to discuss the pros and cons of that statement here, than everyone else starting their own threads of statements of facts as to why they wouldn’t buy gleam club if coloured text was removed from it.
Plus, it’s good when there’s debate, in some cases, good points can be made, which might change the OP’s point of view on the matter.
I like the ability to change text colours with gleam club. Also just renewed another 6 months. One thing I wish is that gleam club allowed emojis on signs. If people portals close I would change there signs to this
Weekly GC members meeting rescheduled for Wednesday 1st of April. Usual secret meeting location.
Are we letting DK in this time around? I vote no…
That’s not at all my point. But ok.
I hope people liked this post because they liked the first sentence, not the second.
I appreciate you trying
I dream that one day ppl will stop with the toxic fanboy (or girl, though it’s always boys who do it) act
I wish it were.
If 1000 people buy a year of gleam club, that’s 50,000 or one person’s yearly salary.
WS has 12 or 13 devs. And there are definitely not 1000 people with gleam club.
I bought over a year of gleam club specifically for the advanced tinting on cosmetics and for color-text on signs (and to throw money at wonderstruck). It’s a paywall cosmetic just like a lot of other games have
I honestly do despise it when people try to lift up their own opinion by labeling others in a derogatory manner. That, in my opinion, is toxic behaviour. If you disagree with a statement someone makes, state why - without the need for name calling.
People need to be able to have a civil discussion on these forums without others thinking it’s a personal attack on them. All I have personally seen in this thread, after your initial public wish-want of sign text colouring to be removed from gleam club and made available to all, is people stating why it would not be a good idea for gleam club to lose a benefit (at least without an adequate replacement). It’s not an attack on anyone, it’s not defensive, it’s not “fanboyism”. It’s a discussion about an idea - not an attack on the person having the idea.
I think you know full well that some of the replies to my post were toxic fanboy behavior. 99% of posts were not fanboy defensiveness. But a few waded into that territory, and I’m not the only person who noticed. I won’t quote shame though.
If people are, in my opinion, replying in a toxic manner to my posts, I am allowed to say so.
As a mod, you also should be more careful and neutral in your posts, in my opinion. I don’t think your post was appropriate coming from a mod.
