It would make me feel a lot better if we could get a commitment from @James that there will never, ever, ever be any gleam club exclusive blocks or craftable tools (a-la wayfarer’s totem). Cosmetic reskins of existing tools available is where I would draw the line.
Then how about I say it instead of just agreeing. Players that resort to name calling just because they do not like what has been said are in my opinion, a large part of the problem with the discourse on these forums. Calling other players toxic or crybabies or any of the other names constantly thrown around in the forums is hardly constructive. All it does is put the other person on the defensive and in my opinion just renders the name callers comments moot. If you cannot make an argument without name calling then your opinion probably has little rationale.

If I was James I would never make a guarantee like this. How can he say now, that in x amount of time the game might change enough, or the player base might change enough that this is necessary or ok with the majority of the player base.

Well, some of the above posts made me feel unwelcome here and like my opinion wasn’t valued, while not contributing to the discussion.
Those sorts of posts exist on other forums. I don’t think they belong in the Boundless community.
Already said it in the past, I personally hate it when people make that kind of statement, aiming at people in a general way.

Speaking of “I’m not the only person who noticed” something, I’ve personally had discussions with people going like “I don’t recognize DK anymore / I don’t wanna interact with him anymore” which left me dumbfounded at first but now, I kinda get where they’re coming from.

I mean… you need to understand that the devs needs to make money somehow… how else are you gonna incentivize people to pay for your Membership if most included perks are “meh” at best… that’s just how you sell a membership to begin with.
Boundless has an awesome community but it is small, we don’t rack thousands of players daily just yet and keeping an MMO up and running in addition of updating it with new features and content certainly ain’t cheap, so of course they need to incentivize the small amount of people they have to either buy Cubits Packs or the Gleam Club, but frankly, with the amount of Cubits you gain just from playing the game, it wouldn’t surprise me if these Packs were barely racking any profit for them… we’re lucky enough to have easy access to “premium-ish” services like character slots expansions, appearance change token and the like for free, a lot of companies charges for these services and make them barely accessible unless you grind your butt off, and these are not just F2P game companies… AAA ones charge for that ■■■■ now too

I’m locking this down for a short time as I can see this is starting to get targeted. Please continue the discussion, when the thread reopens, about Gleam Club and Sign Text Colouring - or possible alternatives to strengthen Gleam Club should text colouring be made available to all.

Ill said it before and ill say it again : I will pay money (ie not cubits that i obtained by leveling) for portals to be added to gleam club, I have zero issues paying the inital cost to open the portal but i feel that portal fuel usage outside of that should stop when you have a active gleam club the same way beacons do.

Personally, i prefer portals to be somewhat burdensome to maintain. It forces the community to create main hubs, centralizing them for easy overview. Alternatively, we could end up with portals cluttering the worlds in a less optimized fashion.
Id still have my portal to the hubs if i only had to pay to open them. for not they can just stay closed and ill just pay to port to the nearest access point on planet.

If the sign is on a plot of someone who has gleam club then anyone can use colored text and emojis on that sign. Not sure if that’s what you’re looking for but it’s kind of cool.
