IDEA: Capital City Bonus!

So say you were to start playing Boundless today and it generates a new world. You log in and find out anything you build for the next week will not persist because you cannot refesh your campfire every 2 hours. This is a pretty vad situation to be in for a new player.

I’m cool with that new players can’t build a base. I scoop them up and bring them to Aqua.

Are you purposely trying to just shut this idea down. It is like you dont read all the posts before you reply.

There is more than one single change to make this work.

Make the “holding” planet undetectable on toon creation. problem solved.

I am discussing a major flaw to its application to new planets and its effect on now players.

Its ridiculous idea that new player joining the game needs to wait 7 days to actually start building when this game is about building. He or she would have to replace the campfire every 2 hours for 7 days. Thanks for trying to propose an idea but thats kinda ridiculous

If you want some sort of grace period on new planets it should not apply to the starter planets for the reason I mentioned.

It is ridiculous that you think a new player has to go to THAT ‘waiting’ planet.

Just make that new planet not selectable from the new hero screen when you pick your landing spot.

But thats the point of the new starter planets. New player get put there because other worlds are too high on population. That is how the system is designed to work.

Terrible idea with how everything is working at the moment. New players are making beacons in like 30 minutes max.
ONLY very well organized guilds will be able to hold any kind of land.
Potential for griefing at the end of 7 days is massive. World would be locked up few hours before time up cause of number of people who would like to get there.

No portal network for seven days, for 7 days new player are using warp or staying in their little world…

It will be miserable for everyone but 1% of extremely competitive players.

Not all new planets have to be T1 or T2.

T1 and t2 are starter worlds for a reason

Make it not delectable as a 1st time planet on hero creation. Then they wont be stuck there if they warp there since they know how to warp.

Not. All. New. Planets. Have. To. Be. T1. Or. T2.
Key word: New.

Didn’t say starter.

Which is why I said it shouldn’t apply to starter planets.

For other planets a grace period is still kinda bad. A better idea would be to announce the inpending arrival of new t3+ planets to give everyone a chance to prepare for it’s arrival. Maybe the position of the new planet is being triangulated or something and will take 24 hours before its accessable.

Same thing as his idea, just once you can check it out one you cant.

Massive race to harvest everything
Actually this could be entertaining. Especially listening to the outrage on forum from everyone who was locked out of start because of player limit on planet

Good time to play the market as well.

To be clear I personally don’t think we need this, but if players want to be on equal footing to take over a new planet this would be the best way to to it. A completely fresh experience for everyone. Unless you consider timezones and all that.

Timezone doesnt matter. The time is the time.

If people want to take off work the day whatever planet happens, that is on them.

But give people advanced notice – that is the key.

I personally like the mad dash when a new planet suddenly pops into existence. It’s still just as fair and is quite an exciting time.

EDIT: I do think we need a way in game to see when new planets show up though.
