Early Access players on Steam started around August 11th or so, PS4 started September 11th.
So PC players, or PS4 players who bought keys on the website and played initially on their PC’s, had a 1 month headstart, that’s all. It was to make sure the portal system was up and runnin’ and to start up some towns so the game looked like the screenshots in the store page, and probably as a reward to all the people who supported the game on kickstarter/their website.
If people thought the grind was bad now, they have no clue what the grind was like before we had portal hubs up haha.
Right and that was my issue. I had no idea that the planets were all linked together and even if I did at the time, I did not have a map or anything that showed which one connected to another, etc.
Every hub I’ve been to has had signs, and you can easily go back the way you came. That works for Ultima as well as PS, but yea, it’s definitely hard as a new player to navigate. Especially when you finally learn the system, and then it changes. haha
I was there pre wipe, you can look at planet names or anything on youtube from before EA launch in August… it’s all gone. Yup there are some insanely dedicated people out there, PS for sure among them, and yup the 3 week head start was so that it didnt seem “barren” to new players.
Exactly my point - if you are completely unaware of how the game works (me since I’m new and did not participate in beta or anything else), you have no idea about any of this stuff. The game doesn’t really present you much of this information either and I’m sorry, but I shouldn’t have to watch tons of YouTube videos or do tons of research online to figure out basic game elements. Again, personal opinions.
