I’m currently learning to forge i’ve done a little bit before working my way through this guide.
Does this guide still hold up or are there any other tips I can follow?
Currently made world regen bombs, healing bombs and some other random stuff with tools which is probably no good.
When it comes to forging tools what stuff are you guys looking for at the moment?

3x3 hammers are always popular. loot/light totems, gem spanners, slingbows… regen bombs, healing/cleanse/replenish bombs… all the things.
for the most part it is good just a reminder its RNG= roll of dice what is possible depends on gum used .also i use * Boon Removal Solvent – Simply removes a boon, and rerolls a new boon. This “new boon” can be identical to the one that was just removed however. sometime it can help instead of deconstuting if u only use a couple… also if u are doing world regen best way i found is copper bomb.. 3 special gum and pure boon 3 and if u roll heal deconstuct start over if not i just use pb3 till i get it to fill but yes this guide is helpfull
also u can if there is still a creative world u can do without loosing materials ..there still also rng envolved either way
i wish i knew how to do clear weather if only there was someone who had a guide to do that… 
You can use this as well I use a modified version between the two guides. But you will get the idea of what to when you see it do different things when rolling.
Thank you for this tip, I’d been getting frustrated with the amount of times I can to deconstruct yesterday. Will give this a try.

Idk if it’s gonna let me plug his YouTube channel with a link, but I’ll try below. Jiivita has some forging tutorial videos that can get you started to make some things reliably, it’s probably not the 100% most efficient methods these days, but can definitely help get the forge going 
Thanks all for the suggestions I forged some hammers that break x9 blocks and some regen bombs using @icecrmcone suggestion above.

Here’s the regen bombs
So =20 damage make them just above base ( no negative damage).You also added 1400 Durability. Nice AOE hammers. Someone with a good hammer page could do some nice mining with them. Easily T6 with a good page. I would just check out a few shops with similar hammers and go from there.
Clear Weather is a 100% Random Quirk, so any Boon that gives Quirk Points is what you want. You can also try Quirk Transmute or Quirk Removal to try getting Clear weather.
