The map client (showing your current location) is no longer working. It’s too much effort for me to update it every patch. If they provide some API to get the location that doesn’t require a code change every boundless release, then I will get it working again with that.
The website however is indeed working. It shows the regions, the entity grid, and markers for all the settlements (updated hourly iirc). it does not have beacon areas on it, and the maps themselves are about a year old (been too lazy to update).
Please note that the official map site also exists which has beacon areas on it: https://maps.playboundless.com/
I tried a bunch of planets and they seemed to all be workin` for me.
